Welcome to the Bolt Driver Newsletter! Every month we update you with the latest news, developments and changes to help you earn more, stay safe, and make the most out of your Bolt Driver App.
🏎️ Bolt: On the move is back for 2025!
Bolt: On the move is a series of events across different UK cities designed to give drivers a chance to speak directly with Bolt’s operations team.
Last year we spoke to 550+ drivers during the course of the events and heard all of your ideas.
We’ve been working hard to implement changes based on your feedback, the most recent change being how we calculate driving time, which used to be based on time online and now is based on time on a trip! (Not applicable to Cardiff drivers, due to local regulations).
Keep an eye on your inbox, we’ll let you know when we’re coming to your city so you can book your spot and have your say.
In the meantime, if you haven’t already, we’d like you to complete a 2 minute survey. This will allow us to ensure the right decision-makers and team members are invited to your city to help with the issues you face the most.
♿️ Exciting News: Bolt Accessibility Categories Are Coming Soon to London!
We’re expanding our services to better support riders with accessibility needs — and that means more earning opportunities for you! 🚗💰
Soon, Bolt drivers in London will be able to drive with Bolt Assist and Bolt WAV, two new categories designed to provide safe and reliable rides for passengers who need extra assistance:
🔹 Bolt Assist
For riders who may need a little extra help — such as seniors, people with mobility challenges, or those traveling with service animals. No special vehicle is required, just a willingness to assist passengers when needed.
🔹 Bolt WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle)
Designed for passengers who use wheelchairs or mobility aids. To drive in this category, you must have a licensed WAV vehicle that meets accessibility requirements.
Please note: These categories will only be available in London.
Why Join?
✅ Extra Earnings – Earn a bonus or per-trip incentive for every ride completed in these categories
✅ Support Your Community & Make a Difference – Play a key role in making transport more accessible for those who rely on it
✅ More Ride Requests – Increase your chances of getting trips by serving a wider range of passengers
Stay tuned for the official launch where we will be sharing more information on Bolt Assist. For now, please let us know if you would like to sign up to these categories. ❗️ Important notice from Stockport Council
Stockport council have asked that we share the following information about Deprivation of Liberty orders for children or young people.
Courts authorise the order which set out restrictions on a child's liberty.
Children subject to these orders are often placed in a children’s home and will likely not be able to come and go as they please, get on public transport, call for a taxi or travel on their own.
These children will likely always have an adult accompanying them.
For more info, please see the document below.
⚖️ Compliance reminders for all drivers
Regularly check your vehicle for safety and cleanliness and ensure your vehicle meets all licensing conditions before taking bookings.
If your council mandates vehicle signage, please make sure it is clearly displayed on your vehicle in accordance with your licence conditions.
When waiting for a booking, avoid high footfall areas, busy venues, and hackney ranks. Compliance with road traffic orders is essential.
