The Sub-lot / Batch function allows users to split an existing inventory item into a smaller quantity, creating a new inventory item while reducing the quantity from the parent item. This is typically used to manage inventory in smaller portions or prepare items for QA testing.
Verify the parent item and available quantity before creating a sub-lot.
Use sub-lots to organize inventory for transfers, sales, or processing.
Avoid creating sub-lots for items that have not been properly tested, unless you are prepared to test both the parent and sub-lot separately.
Navigate to Inventory → Current Inventory.
Locate the inventory item you want to sub-lot.
Click the arrow icon next to the item to expand its options.
Select Sub-lot / Batch.
Enter the quantity you want to extract from the parent item.
Click Sub-lot to generate a new inventory item with the specified quantity.
The parent item’s quantity will be automatically reduced by the extracted amount.
The newly created sub-lot will appear as a separate inventory item in the Current Inventory view.
Sub-lot / batch should only be performed after QA testing if required, because results from an already tested item will apply to the sub-lot.
If the parent item has not been tested, any sub-lots must be tested independently to ensure compliance.
Maintain clear records linking sub-lots to their parent items for traceability.
