The Departmental Chair oversees the general management of the Department, overseeing the ESPM Council and Departmental Faculty Meetings.  They serve as a representative of the Department at the campus level.  

Departmental Assistant: Liz Torres, espmrcpt [at] berkeley.edu 

The Departmental Assistant assists the Chair with day-to-day Department activities and manages the Department's room reservation system for lab meetings, group meetings, etc.  

Graduate Student Affairs Officer - O&E, S&E, Range: Zarah Ersoff, espm_gradsupport [at] berkeley.edu , 137 Mulford Hall. 

Graduate Student Affairs Officer - ES, Forestry: Ryann Madden, espm_gradsupport [at] berkeley.edu, 135 Mulford Hall 

The Graduate Student Affairs Officers are the main points of contact for semester and yearly graduate student deadlines, course and committee requirements, funding/grant opportunities and deadlines, professional development activities, campus events, etc.  

Head Graduate Advisor (Fall 2023-Spring 2024): Ian J. Wang, espm_hga [at] berkeley.edu 

The Head Graduate Advisor oversees the Graduate Program Committee in their yearly efforts to assess departmental graduate student requirements.  They assess and approve the fulfillment of individual degrees, breadth courses, and committee requirements.  As an advocate of graduate student interests, they can provide support/advice on navigating graduate student/advisor relationships. 

Chief Administrative Officer: Nicole Lowy, nlowy [at] berkeley.edu, 130 Mulford Hall #3114.  

The Chief Administrative Officer oversees the financial management of the Department and is involved in the reimbursement process for events and services funded directly by the Department.  

Events Specialist: Kelly Kinder, kredfearnk [at] berkeley.edu, 162 Mulford Hall

The Events Specialist supports department initiatives to foster community between students, faculty, and staff. This coordinator also works with various leadership and student governance groups to develop their programs and events.
