In partnership with our parish community, St. Barnabas School strives to deliver a first-class Catholic education that combines rigorous academics with spiritual development, guiding students on the path of Christ to become knowledgeable, moral, and compassionate servant leaders.Reminder: Morning drop-off takes place between 7:40 and 8:00 a.m., and the bell rings at 8:00 a.m. Any student arriving after 8:00 a.m. must check in at the office. Students who are not using the drop-off line should use the south lot and be walked across to the teachers. If a teacher is not present in the south lot, please walk your child all the way to the breezeway door.

The Angel Scholarship Fund helps reduce tuition for every St. Barnabas family that applies. Yes, even if you missed your DTA window. We're currently in 2nd place, just behind St. Hillary, with $320,000 raised and climbing!
Here's how to help:
💰 Make your contribution while doing your taxes. Ohio's tax credit means you get the money back. It's essentially free giving.
📢 Refer family and friends — many people still don't know this program exists. Fill out the referral form for a chance to win a $2,500 FACTS gift card.
📝 Apply for the Angel Scholarship to lower your own tuition. Deadline is April 15.
Here's the deal: if we hit $450,000, every single family who applies, no matter your income, will pay less than the 2022-2023 base tuition rate. That's right. Less than three years ago. Think of it like a short-term loan: you contribute now, and that money comes back to you in the form of lower tuition. You put in, you get back. Win-win.
We only get there together. Every dollar moves us closer to that $450,000 goal. Every family that participates makes the reward real for all families.

At St. Barnabas, we are committed to keeping Catholic education affordable. Every family that applies for EdChoice Expansion and/or the Angel Scholarship Fund will receive some level of tuition relief. This is a fact. That’s why we strongly encourage every family to apply for all available scholarships.

If you haven’t completed your 2026–2027 EdChoice Renewal, you can still do so. You may also submit forms to the school office, addressed to Mary. If you have not applied for EdChoice for 2025–2026, it’s not too late; a minimum of $616 per student can reduce your tuition. Contact Mary at mhenefeld@barnabasohio.org for help.

All school volunteers, coaches, staff, and anyone working with children at St. Barnabas School are invited to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training on Saturday, March 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Bedell Commons. This session fulfills the diocesan safe environment training requirement and helps ensure our parish remains a place of care, respect, and protection for all. Pre-registration is required and can be completed through the VIRTUS website here.
We invite all parishioners, families, and friends to join us for the beautiful liturgies throughout the week.
As we prepare our hearts for Easter Sunday, we hope to see you and your family at one of our Holy Week or Easter Masses as we celebrate together as a community.

Recess Reminder: As the temperatures continue to fluctuate, we kindly remind families to send students to school each day with a warm coat, hat, and gloves. Please note that sweatshirts do not count as coats during the colder months. We plan to enjoy outdoor recess as often as weather safely allows, because fresh air and movement are so important for our students. We will remain indoors on days when it is raining or when the feels-like temperature is below 20°F

After School Gymnastics - St. Barnabas students in 1st through 3rd grade are invited to a fun after-school gymnastics program led by Jen Kontur, owner of Learning Ladder Gymnastics and mom to three St. Barnabas students, running Thursdays from April 16 through May 14, 3:30–4:15 PM at the Learning Ladder Gymnastics facility, with students walking from school to the gym and Extended Day students being walked back afterward.
Dress Down Days: If your student has a dress-down day on a scheduled PE day, please ensure they wear athletic shoes.
Athletic Shoes: For your child's safety, please have them wear athletic shoes to PE. Thank you!

Spam Emails - Please be aware that phishing emails are being sent that appear to come from Fr. James or Mr. Seislove, asking for favors or requesting a text response. These messages are not legitimate. Always check the "from" email address carefully before replying, and do not respond to any suspicious requests. Stay cautious and report anything unusual.
Mass Reminders:
If you plan to sit with your child at Friday Mass, we ask that they remain with you until the conclusion of both the St. Michael Prayer and the St. Thérèse Novena. After these prayers, students should be walked directly to their teacher. For First Friday Buddy Masses (the first Friday of every month), we ask that all students sit with their assigned buddy during the liturgy. Students should wear their "Joyful in Spirit, United in Faith" shirts.
Homework Requests for Absences
Requests for homework should be made when reporting an absence, or no later than 9:00 a.m. on the day your child is absent. Work will be ready for pickup after 2:00 p.m., if not being sent home with a sibling. Please make this request to both your child’s teacher and the school office at office@barnabasohio.org so we can ensure everything is prepared.
