In partnership with our parish community, St. Barnabas School strives to deliver a first-class Catholic education that combines rigorous academics with spiritual development, guiding students on the path of Christ to become knowledgeable, moral, and compassionate servant leaders.
Our annual Open House will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2026, as we kick off Catholic Schools Week. We welcome all families to join us for Mass at 10:30 AM, followed by Open House from 11:30 AM–1:00 PM.
If you know a family interested in St. Barnabas School, please share our Open House details with them and encourage them to register here.
We are also seeking volunteers to assist with tours. Tours will start at 11:30, and you can sign up for whatever time works for you. You will be provided with "talking points" and a list of key places to visit. Please sign up here by 1/18/25 to help!
During Catholic Schools Week, we have a week full of special events and service opportunities for our students:
Cereal Collection: Each day, we will be collecting cereal donations to benefit St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) and the Nordonia Emergency Assistance Center. Cereal boxes can be left in the breezeway.

This year, all funds raised at Ignite 2026 will go toward a transformative project: the renovation of our North Lot Playground! Planned upgrades include replacing the mulch with zero-fall rubber flooring, installing durable turf in areas where grass struggles to grow, repaving and lining the lot, and adding fun features to enhance play for all ages.

Cub Pack 575: Open to all kids in K–5th grade
Safety City: Mark your calendars for July 27–31. This fun and educational program is designed for incoming Kindergarten students to learn important safety skills. More details to come at a later date — stay tuned!
Recess Reminder: As the temperatures continue to drop, we kindly remind families to send students to school each day with a warm coat, hat, and gloves. Please note that sweatshirts do not count as coats during the colder months.
We plan to enjoy outdoor recess as often as weather safely allows, because fresh air and movement are so important for our students. We will remain indoors on days when it is raining or when the feels-like temperature is below 20°F.
Hiring - We are seeking caring and reliable Aides for our Before & After-School Program. If you enjoy working with children and want to be part of a faith-filled, supportive school community, we’d love to hear from you! Apply today or contact Mrs. Majoros for more details.
Spam Emails - Please be aware that phishing emails are being sent that appear to come from Fr. James or Mr. Seislove, asking for favors or requesting a text response. These messages are not legitimate. Always check the "from" email address carefully before replying, and do not respond to any suspicious requests. Stay cautious and report anything unusual.
Mass Reminders:
If you plan to sit with your child at Friday Mass, we ask that they remain with you until the conclusion of both the St. Michael Prayer and the St. Thérèse Novena. After these prayers, students should be walked directly to their teacher. For First Friday Buddy Masses (the first Friday of every month), we ask that all students sit with their assigned buddy during the liturgy. Students should wear their "Joyful in Spirit, United in Faith" shirts.
Homework Requests for Absences
Requests for homework should be made when reporting an absence, or no later than 9:00 a.m. on the day your child is absent. Work will be ready for pickup after 2:00 p.m., if not being sent home with a sibling. Please make this request to both your child’s teacher and the school office at office@barnabasohio.org so we can ensure everything is prepared.
Vacations
When students miss school for family vacations, all missed work will be given upon their return. Students are responsible for making up all work missed. Teachers will provide support, but it is the student’s responsibility to put in the extra time and effort to complete them. A reasonable amount of time for make-up work is equal to the number of days absent.
