Join us for the St. Barnabas Annual Golf Outing on Saturday, August 2, with a shotgun start at 1:00 PM at Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club in Hudson, OH.
This is a parishioner run event and this year will mark our 28th ANNUAL OUTING! Money raised from the outing will be used for the St.Barnabas community, including the school, parish, rectory, and assistance with multiple community programs to continue with our commitment to Catholic Education in various ways.

We’re excited to welcome all students and families to our Meet & Greet Open House on Sunday, August 17, from 4:00–5:30 PM.
This event offers a wonderful opportunity for both parents and students to meet their teacher, see the classroom, drop off school supplies, visit the cafeteria, and drop off medications with the school nurse.
Following the Open House, we invite everyone to join us for Mass at 5:30 PM. Immediately after Mass, stay for a Welcome Address from Principal Seislove, live music, and food trucks from 6:30–9:00 PM. It’s a fun and meaningful way to kick off the school year, and we look forward to seeing you there!

All parents/guardians will be required to review and sign off on their child's enrollment packet, which includes acknowledgment of the updated 2025-2026 K-8 Student Handbook, Pre-K and Preschool Handbook, and Dress Code Policy. This is due by the first day of school for all Preschool and Pre-K students. Due by August 19 for K-8 students. To access the forms:

If you completed this information last year, the process will be quick, as most information will already be pre-populated for your family. 📚✏️ Summer reading and math assignments for grades K–8 are now available! Some grade levels have specific books to read and math skills to practice, while others include more general expectations and fun activities to complete over the summer.
Spending just a little time each day on reading and math helps keep young minds active, builds strong habits, and makes the back-to-school transition smoother. Whether it’s a chapter before bed, a picture book at the park, or a few math problems after lunch — every bit counts!

Through the St. Barnabas Edge program, middle school students receive an opportunity to grow in faith by developing a meaningful relationship with Jesus, a better understanding of our Catholic tradition, and help to plant roots for the adult years.
Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program that is provided by Life Teen. It offers a safe and fun place for youth to find a solid Catholic community, get answers to their questions about faith and, most importantly, experience Jesus in a profound and personal way.
We have a lot of fun with games & snacks, too! Edge is open to ALL incoming sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. Join us every other Tuesday THIS SUMMER for a mix of social nights & movie nights, where we will praise our Lord through every fun activity we do together! Register for the 2026 Edge program here. Looking to keep your child sharp over the summer? One of our wonderful aides, Nicole Murowsky, is a certified teacher offering tutoring for students in Grades K–4 across all core subjects—Math, ELA, Social Studies, and Science.

Tuition & Financial Aid July 11th Important Updates:
Tuition Invoices - We apologize that tuition bills are not ready to be released just yet. We are still working on finalizing Angel Scholarship Fund allocations and Parish Grant and Aid awards. We will send the invoices out as soon as possible.
EdChoice Scholarship Amounts - there was no increase included in the State's finalized budget so amounts remain the same, unless your family applied for an income re-verification due to a situation change
EdChoice Scholarship Application - we strongly encourage all families to take advantage of this program. Every child in grades K-12 qualifies regardless of household income. You can still apply for the upcoming school year.
Angel Scholarship Fund - the Diocese has extended the application deadline to August 15th. Here is the link if you have not yet applied: Angel Scholarship Application 25/26. Please note: one application per child (grades K-8), and you must list your family's exact 2024 Adjusted Gross Income on the form (Federal 1040 - Line 11). If parents file separately, add the two tax returns together and enter the total.
SBS Educational Services Fees -- payments are due July 15th, so please ensure your banking information is loaded and current (check those credit and debit card expiration dates). Payments that do not go through on time are subject to a system-generated $50 late.
Cafeteria Prepay Balances -- have been rolled over for the upcoming school year and can be viewed in the family portal.

Not getting the Blazer Blast anymore? If someone you know isn’t receiving the Blazer Blast, they may have accidentally unsubscribed. They can resubscribe by finding a past Blazer Blast email and using the resubscribe link at the bottom, or they can visit the St. Barnabas website or contact the school office for assistance.
Spam Emails: Please be aware that phishing emails are being sent that appear to come from Fr. James or Mr. Seislove, asking for favors or requesting a text response. These messages are not legitimate. Always check the "from" email address carefully before replying, and do not respond to any suspicious requests. Stay cautious and report anything unusual.
Faculty and Staff Updates:
Sarah Leyden will be our new Kindergarten teacher at St. Barnabas. A proud graduate of Lake Erie College, Ms. Leyden brings a calm, confident presence and a clear passion for early childhood education to our youngest learners.
Mr. Joseph Cochran will serve as a 6th Grade Homeroom teacher, teaching 6th and 7th Grade Mathematics as well as 6th Grade Religion.
Christie Sheridan will be our new Campus Minister at St. Barnabas! With a deep love for faith formation and a strong background in Catholic education and ministry, Mrs. Sheridan brings both passion and experience to this vital role.
Mrs. Katie Schweninger has been named our new Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Achievement at St. Barnabas School! With 11 years of dedicated service as a teacher in our school, Mrs. Schweninger brings a deep understanding of our mission, students, and staff to this important leadership role.
Sherry Foss as our new Pre-K teacher at St. Barnabas! Mrs. Foss began her teaching career right here as a substitute teacher at St. Barnabas, and now returns with years of experience and a deep love for early childhood education.

Youth Choir Signup: The Barnabas Church Choir sings primarily at school Masses on Fridays at 8:30 am, but also for intermittent 10:30 am Masses. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays after school in the church. To sign up for the St. Barnabas Children's Choir choir, please fill out the form.
Save the Date: The St. Barnabas Athletic Association (SBAA) Fundraiser is set for Saturday, October 18 — and it’s a 1-mile fun run or 5K event the whole family can enjoy!

Sport Coordinators will follow up with coaches who are due for recertification training.
For Parents & Athletes:
Coaches will be reaching out soon (if they haven’t already) with fall season plans.
📌 Reminder: Every athlete must have a CYO Pre-Participation Physical Form signed and submitted to their coach before the first day of practice.
⏳ Forms are valid for 13 months from the date of the physician’s signature.

St. Barnabas is excited to launch School Safe ID, a new sign-in system to enhance safety, security, and efficiency for all visitors, late arrivals, and early dismissals.
The kiosk is now live in the school office. While it works without a license now, starting Monday, April 28, all visitors will be required to present a valid driver’s license to check in.

📱 You’ll be prompted to add a digital badge to your phone (optional)
🖨️ All visitors will receive a printed badge while in the building
This system also improves how we log student arrivals and dismissals, keeping our attendance records more secure.
