We would like to take this opportunity to say Happy Teachers Appreciation Week to all of our adventurous teachers that keeps this wonderful program running!
Our Art Class used different shapes and kinds of shamrocks to make all kinds of faces on them using different patterns, glitters, and glues.
In Gardening with Ms. Hill our scholars are planting pepper seeds.
The students are watering the pumpkin, cabbages, okra, radishes, watermelon, white and sweet potatoes, peppers, and collards in the garden
In Pottery, our amazing students have been creating coil pots, pinch pots, and using our creative imaginations to make our own custom creations. They also made different foods like cookies, burgers, fruits, and noodles.
In Photography class, our future photographers has been working on their passports to travel to each YES enrichment to take photos.
Our Sporting 1 on 1 class played a game of dodgeball based upon different math concepts such as adding, subtracting, division, and multiplication.

Ms. Rucker and Ms. Webb's Cosmetology class has been busy learning how to curl hair using the foam rollers and cold rods technique. They also have been learning about how to properly do facials and take care of your skin. Our amazing students also practiced on their very own teacher Ms. webbs with her locs. Keep up the great work scholars!!

Fabulous February: Teachers are called many things: educators, mentors, instructors, and sometimes accidentally mom or dad. No matter what they are called, we can all agree that they truly have a gift for influencing lives inside and outside of their classroom. Thank you for your hard work!!

Fabulous February:Academic Success with iReady!
On the last day of February we celebrated our i-Ready victories. All students received a treat for their hard work. Students who passed 15+ reading lessons during the month of February received a certificate and dinner from Chick-fil-A. Students from each grade level with the most passed lessons received a treat, a special certificate, dinner from Chick-fil-A, and a Walmart gift card for $15! Please continue to encourage your child to read daily, ask questions, and be successful.

Ms. Knox and Ms. Grier's pottery class created different types of flowers and food out of their modeling clay. our amazing scholars made blueberries in a bowl, cherries, watermelon, and cool man with a hat. Keep up the great work sculpturing students!!
Ms. Rucker and Ms. Webb's Cosmetology class has been busy learning how to properly shampoo and condition hair. Along with applying the heat protectant spray to blow dry your hair. Our young men does a phenomenal job with learning and keeping up just as our young ladies do. Our very own Ms. Lawrence let us use her as an example with washing and blow drying her hair the proper way. Kudos to you cosmetology class !!

Ms. Turner & Ms. Harden's Arts and Crafts Class celebrates Black History Month by recreating the traffic lights originally invented by Mr. Garrett Morgan. Great job class! Keep up the hard work.

On this particular day the students drew what they want their dream camera to look like on colored construction paper and cut them out and pasted them around the classroom as inspiration. Kudos to our fellow photographers !!
Ms. Turner & Ms. Harden's Arts and Crafts Class worked on coloring beautiful owls with techniques of using colored pencils, crayons, and markers. Our talented art class also made the uniquely designed valentine's day bags that you see to the left for their upcoming celebration. I am super excited to see what's next !!
Ms. P. Hill's Nature and Nutritional Skills Class has been very very busy thus far ! They have gone outside and started pulling up the weeds/ grass to help them out when the ground starts to warm up. As for now, they are planting in the classroom in pots. Nature nutritional skills has also been cooking, They have made rice krispy treats, peanut butter cookies, and butternut squash. You all will have such a bright future with Gardnening.
Mrs. Morgan and Ms. Lundy's S.T.E.A.M. Class did an activity based on if your boat can sink of float with colored sticks and aluminum foil in a silver bucket. What do you think happened? They also did an activity with making snowflakes using q-tips, construction paper, and glue. Keep it up S.T.E.A.M.
