May
This is the end of YES school year, we are looking forward to seeing you all in the Summer and next school year!
Let's have fun and be safe.
Nature's Nutritional Learning teach the students the proper way to plant and nourish fruits and vegetables in the garden . Our students made a healthy delicious smoothie out of fresh fruit and radishes from the garden we have here at Lakeview Academy.
We have our young gentlemen Ki'Mari B. and Caleb H. dicing fresh carrots to go in the smoothie.
We have our young ladies Janiya, Caitlyn, Mariah, and Makayla dicing fresh fruit (apples) to in the smoothie.
Mariah is adding the orange juice to the blender to complete the smoothie.
The smoothie is now complete and tastes very fresh and refreshing. Our students did an excellent job.
S.T.E.A.M.
In S.T.E.A.M. our intelligent students did a Flipping Bottles Experiment. They determined if the amount of water in the bottles affect the success of the flip. What do you think?

Sporting 101/Ga Sports
Sporting 101 explains the importance of sports in society, by identifying different types of sports (such as leisure activities, games, and traditional versus non-traditional sports). Sporting 101 describes the unifying nature of sports in society as the students apply their knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics related to movement and performance. The genre of sports taught include but are not limited to golf, tennis, soccer, badminton, horseshoes, basketball, football, and the rules associated with playing corn hole. We look forward to including board games in the fall to include chess.
Micah H. goes for the point.
Jaceon B. goes for the block against Chris H.
Nature's Nutritional Learning is facilitated by Priscilla Hill & Cynthia Morgan. They teach the student how to invest in nature with gardening skills. They also show students how to become profitable entrepreneurs based upon the products they supply. The students especially enjoyed "eating" the fruits of their labor.
S.T.E.A.M. students use items found in nature such as leaves, twigs, barks, etc. as paintbrushes as they showcase the ART in STEAM. This is one of the many things they learn with Mrs. Rourke and Ms. English.
Cooking 101 students learn how to convert using the metric system as they continue to diversify their palates with different fruits, vegetables, and dairy products during their daily taste tests facilitated by Renetta Hall.
Heterogeneous group learning how about self care, beauty, hygiene, etc. Students receive hands-on experience with proper face wash, lip scrub, hand scrub, nail care, parting hair both horizontal/vertical, plaiting, making ponytails, braiding to the scalp, cutting hair, starting/maintaining locs, curling using a variety of methods. The scholars use mannequin heads to practice as well as using one of the teachers (Ms. Rucker or Ms. Webb) as a model. Our students are being trained for one day becoming an entrepreneur or business owner.
Normani B. & Aubree T. are intensely engaged as they use water paint to decorate window chimes in ART class led by Mrs. Dorothy Turner and Ms. Kaitlyn Bark.
