What's happening in Gardening
Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Morgan met with parents in September to give students their collards and cabbages to plant at home. They also provided students with herbs to use for seasoning once they have been grown.
Ms. Hill's Three Favorite Gardening Activities
First: The students planting their cabbage and collards plants.
Second: Students researching their herbs and giving a presentation to the class.
Third: Students using the skills taught by their teachers and planting their herbs.
STEAM
Elijah Sanford built the tallest, free-standing structure in our STEAM class. Students could only use masking tape and drinking straws (he used the scissors to cut strips of tape). Structures had to stand with no help, and students measured the height using tape measures.
We are learning about the water cycle in our STEAM class. In an effort to see the water cycle in action, we are conducting an experiment using colored water inside plastic bags which we taped to windows in our homes. We will observe and write in our journals what we observe each day for one week. Brayden Hall poses with one of his bags on Day 4 of our experiment.

Ms. Rucker's Three Favorite Me 101 Activities
My first top favorite is just having conversations with my students. In the hustle and bustle of school and school work conversations with our students are hard.
My second top favorite thing is teaching my students essentials for life. Etiquette, how to deal with their emotions, knowing how to deal with difficult situations etc.
My third favorite thing is being able to make items such as lip scrub and lip gloss because let's face it why not make the items to enhance our lips bc we know it it a very important part of our face that could help brighten someone's day. Our SMILE!!!
