2024- 2025 Q3 Grading Report
Based upon the grades depicted on the 3rd nine week grading cycle, we concentrated on comparing the results from the students in the "bubble" category. Those were the students who were approaching the passing threshold of 70. Since the report card for the 1st nine week grading cycle, we have accomplished our goal of reducing the number of students failing classes with a score less than 69.
Fall-Math: 3rd -6% ; 4th-15%; 5th-19%
Spring- Math: 3rd- 5%; 4th-6%; 5th-6.5%
Fall-ELA: 3rd- 2%; 4th-10%; 5th- 11%
Spring- ELA: 3rd- 3%; 4th-8%; 5th- 7%
*We did NOT reach our goal for 3rd grade ELA based upon report card grades so we have added a second layer of reading instructional strategies. We do anticipate reaching our goal when we measure Spring Diagnostic for iReady.

UFLI Implementation
We have expanded UFLI to cater to the academic needs of students scoring one grade level below on their winter iReady diagnostic exam for each grade level. We collaborated with Baldwin County's curriculum director, Mrs. Erica Ingram to add teachers with reading endorsements to our staff. These teachers hosted small groups of students twice a week to improve literacy. We also welcomed non-YES students to partake in this learning journey.
The following endorsements were held by the specialized reading staff:
Dyslexia or Reading Endorsement
Ga Learn Literacy-10 modules
LETRS-Full 2 years
Orton Gillingham
Wilson—40 hours
2024- 2025 Q1 Grading Report
Based upon the data, we see our focus area derives from the students in the "bubble" category. Those are the students who are approaching the passing threshold of 70.
Math: 3rd -6% ; 4th-15%; 5th-19%
ELA: 3rd- 2%; 4th-10%; 5th- 11%
iReady Fall Diagnostic Data Analysis
Based upon the data, we can determine our students' areas of deficiency which allows us to formulate a plan of action to target such areas. Our 5th grade students will need remediation in both Math and ELA; our 4th grade students will benefit from more Math instruction than reading; our 3rd grade students require both Math and reading remediation. Our desired goal is to provide scaffolded instruction for our students. Students will reassess in December and April; at that time, it is our projection that our students will no longer be two or three grade levels below in Math nor Reading.
Plan of Action:
Based upon the results from the iReady Universal Screener and the first nine week report card grades, we have organized our students and aligned them with teachers who can best serve their academic need.
For those students scoring in the Kindergarten range, we have our veteran teachers Mrs. Morgan/Mrs. Lundy (current Midway Hills Primary Kindergarten teachers) facilitating UFLI reading platform on a daily basis. The University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI – pronounced “you fly”) is an ongoing effort by UF faculty and students to improve literacy outcomes for struggling students by addressing the key area reader development.
Ms. Kori Rucker (current fourth grade Lakeview Academy teacher) initiated a professional learning seminar with YES staff teaching "Touch Math". TouchMath provides systematic and explicit multisensory math instruction grounded in the Science of Mathematics to measurably accelerate student achievement. We have also added Mr. Cornelius Waller to our staff. He has taught math at Baldwin High School and currently teaches seventh grade math at Oak Hill Middle School. His goal is to teach mathematical reasoning skills directly to our fifth grade students who will transition into Oak Hill Middle School.
All students follow this schedule:
Monday and Tuesdays- (ELA) Each class will have three small groups; one for homework/reading time, one for iReady Reading, and one for direct instruction aligned with foundational skills and/or current pacing with Lakeview Academy.
Wednesday and Thursdays- (Math) Each class will have three small groups; one for homework/manipulatives and stimulation activities, one for iReady Reading, and one for direct instruction aligned with foundational skills and/or current pacing with Lakeview Academy.
2023- 2024 Q3 Grading Report
Passing all content classes- 81%
Passing 3/4 content classes- 12%
Passing 2/4 classes- 2%
Passing 1/4 class-5%
Plan of Action:
We will create flexible groups based upon the Spring Diagnostic Growth report to enrich, reinforce, and provide prerequisite skills to assist with mastery content in preparation for Ga. Milestones. Our Montessori students are under the supervision of our Gifted & Montessori Endorsed teacher who provides direct instruction and remediation.
