You can review the job duties of an SIL here.
Attend class lectures: For in-person or synchronous courses supported by SI, SILs act as a model student for students of course. This modeling includes showing up to class on-time (if not early), paying attention to/participating in lectures, and taking lecture notes.
SI Sessions: Plan, market, and facilitate weekly SI Sessions (up to 3 hours per week) for students of the SI-supported course.
Communication: SILs are required to regularly review and respond to communication from the SI Team within 2 business days through their ACC employee email (@austincc.edu). This employee email is how you will:
Receive an emailed copy of the SI Department newsletter (which is required reading!)
Be contacted by the SI Team
Communicate with your students and professor of your course
Access SI Departmental forms
Administrative tasks: Complete all administrative tasks for each pay period. These tasks include:
Reviewing SI Session sign-ins to ensure recorded attendance is accurate
Record all hosted sessions via the SI Session Log Form
Update the SI Team with any changes to your session schedule via the SI Session Scheduling Form
Record all worked hours using the WorkDay platform
