Take Attendance Make sure you are having your students sign-in to the session as the first thing they do when they enter. If students enter late, it is still your responsibility to make sure they sign in! This must be done for EVERY session!
Check in Ask your students about how they're doing in their class, how the last test went, or a silly ice breaker question! Students that are comfortable sharing are comfortable participating academically.
Informal Quiz (while working in groups or individually) Develops and reinforces comprehension, improves retention, stimulates interest in subject area, and promotes participation.
Notes Quiz Much like the informal quiz, but the notes quiz will include questions from the most recent lecture notes that students should have taken.
Onion Peel Students contribute questions on paper creating a “paper onion.” Then group answers the questions, peeling the onion.
