College Visits

FEBRUARY 2020

Skye Rust and Amy Awashu from Columbia College came to visit my AP class today. Skye has been visiting my class for the past six years, on and off. The most valuable part of her visit is the time she takes to talk to the students about their portfolios and give them feedback in return. I have found that having other experts and admissions officers talk about their work always makes their work grow and improve.

The chair of Industrial Design at CENTRO, Sebastián Ocampo, came to my AP class on Friday September 14th to talk about his school.

He talked about Centro's focus as a school and how they are trying to make changes in the current world through design. Students were impressed with the seriousness of the school and asked many questions.

At the end of the presentation Sebastián was able to sit down with individual students and give them feedback on their current portfolio pieces with suggestions on some areas of improvement.
