Dear Kindergarten Families,
This week in English Literacy, students were introduced to the Writing Workshop routine. In Spanish, they are becoming readers by exploring words around the classroom using images and reading books about the world. In Math, students began working with 5-frames, practicing subitizing, and learning new math vocabulary: “How many cubes?” “How many empty boxes?” “How many in all?” In Phonics, students have been engaged in learning their friends’ names and discovering that writers can say any word and hear the beats in it; the syllables.

También seguiremos practicando el sonido y trazo de las vocales a, e, i, o y reconociendo palabras frecuentes como yo, la, el, un.

Tigers will learn how to solve problems in an effective way.
At school, children solve problems by sharing feelings, listening to classmates, and working together to find solutions. They learn empathy, cooperation, and confidence. Tigers will learn how to solve problems with important steps such as pausing to relax, talk with kind words, find solutions and try the solutions.
With family, children talk about their feelings and work together to solve problems calmly, building self-awareness and positive relationships. Tigers can practice at home the four steps of peace place when facing a problem: 1. Pause, 2. Talk, 3. Think, 4. Try.
