This year, the autumn season is going to look a little different, but don’t worry! There are plenty of ways to continue celebrating the spooky times coming up. We’ve compiled a list of some of our best suggestions for a fun-filled (and safe) fall.

We hope all of you have a healthy and happy Halloween!

October Essentials

From Yash's Corner!

Movies: Coraline is a personal Halloween favorite, but another movie that fits the fall mood for me is Ladybird!

Books: The autumn weather puts me in a classics mood; you can catch me reading Pride and Prejudice this month.

Snacks and Drinks: I’ve been obsessed with all sorts of drinks lately, but I’ve consumed a lot of hibiscus tea especially! Other than that, I’ve been enjoying some seasonal fruit.

Here are our best tips:

  • Cue up some of your favorite movies and grab some snacks! Programs like Netflix Party and MyCircleTV allow you to stream with your friends virtually.

  • Better yet, make your own treats! Our personal favorites include pumpkin bread, caramel kettle corn, and copious amounts of apple cider!

  • Take part in some outdoor activities! Whether it’s apple picking or just raking the leaves, spend some time outdoors before it gets too cold (safely of course)!

  • Play some virtual games! We recommend a few cutthroat rounds of Among Us to really enhance the scary mood.

  • Finally, please remember to look after yourself! This year, Halloween marks the end of the first quarter here at ALHS, so take part in some physical and mental self care to take care of stress. 3 more quarters to go!
