Starting this school year, a new law passed by the Utah State Legislature, along with Alpine School District Policy 5250, is now in effect at Rocky Mountain Elementary. This policy governs the use of cell phones, smart watches, and other personal electronic devices to ensure a safe, focused, and positive learning environment.
Key points for parents:
Students must keep devices off or in airplane mode and stored in their backpacks from the first bell to the last bell. Devices may not be seen or heard during the school day.
Parents needing to reach their child should call the school office at 801-610-8117 rather than messaging students directly.
Misuse of devices may result in progressive consequences, from reminders to parent conferences, as outlined in the policy.
This policy has been reviewed by our School Community Council and PTA and is now officially in place at Rocky Mountain Elementary. For full details, including procedures and exceptions, please review the policy here.

Keeping your child’s meal account up to date helps ensure they can enjoy school meals without interruption. If your child currently has a negative meal balance, we encourage you to check their account and make a payment as soon as possible.
In Alpine School District, we use LINQ Connect to monitor school meal account balances and make adding money easy. You can even set up automatic monthly payments so your child’s account is always funded. To visit the LINQ Connect website, click here.
The Rocky Mountain 6th grade Student Council runs the Cougar Store, where students can use tickets earned for following school expectations to purchase prizes. Volunteers assist student council members in running the store. Volunteer times vary by day.
Thank you to everyone who signed up thus far! We just need a few more volunteers for November and would love your help in filling these remaining slots. Please take a look to see if you might be able to share your time with the school. Additional dates will continue to be added in the future.
