The Rocky Mountain 6th grade Student Council runs the Cougar Store, a place where students can use tickets earned for following school expectations to purchase prizes. Volunteers directly assist the student council members in running the store. Volunteer times vary by day. We are currently filling time slots from mid-September through October (future dates will be added later).

Parents, I would like to request your support in reinforcing our lunchroom routines as we help students settle back into school expectations. Our goal is to create a safe, calm, and enjoyable space where all students can eat and recharge. Here’s how we teach and encourage students to follow our lunchroom standards:
Use quiet voices 🤫 – Students can talk with friends, but we ask that voices stay at a conversational level to ensure a calm environment for everyone.
Stay seated 🪑 – Students remain at their grade-level tables for the full 15-minute lunch period so adults can keep everyone safe and accounted for.
Raise hand for help ✋ – If students need to get a drink or use the restroom, they raise their hand, and a supervising adult will excuse them.
Throw away trash 🧹 – Students help maintain a clean lunchroom by picking up after themselves.
Wait to be excused ⏰ – Students remain seated until a supervising adult excuses them at the end of their grade level 15-minute lunch period. We’ve found that 15 minutes provides a balanced amount of time for students to eat comfortably while still leaving plenty of time for recess. Students who need an extra minute or two to finish up are allowed to do so.
Reinforcing these routines at home will help supports the lunchroom team in keeping a positive, safe, and enjoyable space for all students. Thank you for your help and partnership!
As one last reminder, Rocky Mountain students are invited to join the Northridge Ballroom after school program! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn ballroom dance, build confidence, make new friends, and be part of a team. This is a multi-school program that forms one amazing team!
