Next week, October 27-31, we are celebrating National Red Ribbon Week, a PTA-sponsored campaign encouraging students to live a drug-free life. Each day has a fun dress-up theme to help remind students to make healthy choices:
Monday, Oct. 27 – Pajama Day: Follow Your Dream, Live a Happy Life!
Tuesday, Oct. 28 – Crazy Hair or Socks Day: From Head to Toe, I'm Drug Free!
Wednesday, Oct. 29 – Wear Red and sign the pledge to stay drug free
Thursday, Oct. 30 – Wear Bright Colors: Stay Bright and Drug Free!
Friday, Oct. 31 – Wear your Halloween Costume: Say Boo to Drugs!
In conjunction with Monday's pajama day theme of "Follow Your Dream, Live a Happy Life," students are invited to complete the “My Hopes and Dreams” form, briefly outlining their hopes and dreams for the future. A physical copy was sent home stapled to the Red Ribbon Week flyer, but a digital copy is also available at the link below to print at home. Completed forms should be returned to school by Tuesday, Oct. 28, and students who participate will be entered into a prize drawing.

Our school counselor, Mrs. Finch, provides a monthly newsletter for families called Counseling Corner. Each edition shares the lessons and skills she has taught in classrooms to support students’ social and emotional well-being, giving families the opportunity to follow-up to and reinforce these skills at home.
The October edition is now available at the link below, and future newsletters will be shared monthly as an available resource for families to stay informed.
Rogers & Russell, a local Pleasant Grove law firm, sponsors a Teacher of the Month program to honor and recognize outstanding educators in Pleasant Grove and Lindon schools. Teachers can be nominated by students, parents, staff, PTA members, or other community members. Each month, a selected teacher will receive a $250 deposit to their classroom foundation account.
Families who would like to nominate a teacher can complete the Google Form linked below. This is a great way to celebrate the dedication and impact of local educators in our community, especially those right here at Rocky Mountain!
InMotion Sports Programs will be hosting an after-school "Basketball Basics" program at Rocky Mountain Elementary for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The program runs Fridays, 2:20-3:20pm, November 14 through December 12 (no class on November 28 during Thanksgiving break) in the school gym. Over four weeks, participants will learn passing, catching, dribbling, shooting, scrimmaging, and basic game rules through fun, skill-building activities. The cost is $60 per student.
A Tennis program will also be offered starting in February for five weeks at a cost of $85.
Registration for both programs is available on the InMotion website, and additional details can be found in the flyer linked below.

The Rocky Mountain 6th grade Student Council could use your help in running Rocky's, our school store. Volunteers work alongside student council members as students redeem tickets for prizes. It's a fun way to see student leadership in action!
If you’re able to give a little time that day, we would greatly appreciate it. Time slots are over the lunch hour. More volunteer opportunities will be added throughout the year.
