Recess and Inside Days at Rocky Mountain

With the snowfall we enjoyed today, it’s a great time to review our inside recess procedures.  It is our usual practice that students will go outside for recess, but there are times when all students will stay indoors due to certain outside conditions.  These are:

• Temperature: Below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, including wind chill.

• Inclement Weather: Steady rain, sleet, hail, or snow that could leave students wet or cold.

• Air Quality: Following Utah Department of Health guidelines:

  • 1. PM2.5 below 35.4: all students may play outside.

    2. PM2.5 35.5–55.4: students with respiratory issues or other sensitivities stay inside.

    3. PM2.5 55.5 or above: all students stay inside.

Students should come prepared with clothing appropriate for the weather. Thank you for helping your child come prepared for outdoor play when conditions allow!
