The Dual Language Immersion application for first graders entering the program in the 2026-2027 school year will open on December 15! This is an incredible opportunity for students to participate in a program that offers rich language learning and lasting benefits. Keep an eye out for more details soon, including a parent information meeting here at Rocky Mountain where you can learn more about the Portuguese DLI program and its value to our students.
We know the true impact of our Dual Language Immersion program is best seen through the experiences of our students and families. If your child has benefited from DLI, we’d love for you to share a short testimonial about your family’s experience. Your story could be featured in materials that help other families understand the value of bilingual education.
You can also complete the form to request a DLI yard sign that you can place are your home to advertise this amazing program!
We want to give a big congratulations to all of our students participating in the upcoming school play! Check out the full cast list below to see who is playing which role. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication—break a leg, Cougars!
With the snowfall we enjoyed today, it’s a great time to review our inside recess procedures. It is our usual practice that students will go outside for recess, but there are times when all students will stay indoors due to certain outside conditions. These are:
Temperature: Below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, including wind chill.
Inclement Weather: Steady rain, sleet, hail, or snow that could leave students wet or cold.
Air Quality: Following Utah Department of Health guidelines:
PM2.5 below 35.4: all students may play outside.
PM2.5 35.5–55.4: students with respiratory issues or other sensitivities stay inside.
PM2.5 55.5 or above: all students stay inside.
Students should come prepared with clothing appropriate for the weather. Thank you for helping your child come prepared for outdoor play when conditions allow!
The Rocky Mountain 6th grade Student Council could use your help in running Rocky's, our school store. Volunteers work alongside student council members as students redeem tickets for prizes. It's a fun way to see student leadership in action!
If you’re able to give a little time that day, we would greatly appreciate it. Time slots are over the lunch hour. More volunteer opportunities will be added throughout the year.

The next school board meeting of the new "Timpanogos" School District will take place on Wednesday, December 10, at 6:00pm at the Orem High School little theater.
Families can find information about each of the new school districts on the current Alpine School District webpage by clicking here. A page dedicated specifically to the future "Timpanogos" School district is available here. In addition, the four municipalities that will make up the future Timpanogos School District (Pleasant Grove, Lindon, Orem, and Vineyard) have joined together to create their own website, which you can view by clicking here. These websites will be updated with new information as it becomes available in preparation for the launch of the three new school districts.
