Focus: Standard Deviation and Coefficient of Variation Review / Performing T-tests

1. Read this article on Moneyball, the title of the 2003 book and 2016 movie. Which were both based on the analytical approach of the 2002 Oakland A's.

   • • It is the winter off-season for professional baseball, the "Hot Stove" time. You are a player scout and part of the new player recruitment group of a low budget professional baseball team.  How would you use standard deviation and coefficient of variation, along with the Moneyball strategy, to put together the best team with the lowest budget possible.

1. When listing learner outcomes, stating prompts or posing questions, IB uses a variety of Command Terms. The list of Command Terms will be given to you today, in physical form and in Google Classroom.

   • • Open your Learner Outcomes to 6.1.1 - 6.1.5.
