After going the guidance presentation, we will discuss the remaining information in Module 10 that we have not yet discussed
I am providing my Genetics Loose Ends notes but take additional notes if needed
If time remains in the block we will listen to Karen's Story
If not, we will at least discuss chimerism

No Bell Question.
I needed to leave school early today. Since we are at the end of the Genetics unit I will give you options for this block. Here are your options:
Option 1: I can not change the date of our test, which will be on Thursday, May 8. You can use this block to prep for the test by creating your study tools or completing the notes. The Study Guide is complete; I just need to go over the Genetics Loose Ends concepts on Tuesday.
Option 2: Get started on the first assignment for our next unit. Complete the DNA Videos and Building DNA assignment, given in Google Classroom.
This is a large assignment and is not due until Monday 5/12; you will need to chisel away at it or give yourself a chunk of time.
WORK INDEPENDENTLY AND QUIETLY

Baldness is a recessive sex-linked trait. A bald man and a woman, homozygous dominant for the trait, have a daughter. When the daughter gets older she has a son with a man who is not bald. What is the percent chance that, out of just male probabilities, the grandson eventually becomes bald like his grandfather?
We will go over the answers to the Bell Questions and then go over the answers to the Sex-Linked Crosses Worksheet
We will then discuss a genetics case study, a Case of Disputed Maternity.
We will then watch the Amoeba Sisters video on Pedigrees, included below.
Students will then begin the Pedigree assignment, given in Google Classroom.
This Pedigree Lesson is from a biology curriculum which we do not follow. Disregard information about previous lessons. I found enough value in the lesson despite the references.
Complete the Pedigree assignment, given in Google Classroom

Once you understand how the red blood cells differ among the blood types and the donor and reception combinations, play several rounds of the Blood Typing Game
We will go over the Incomplete Dominance & Co-dominance assignment and the Multiple Alleles worksheet
Our focus will switch to the last Non-Mendelian trait we will discuss, Sex-linked Traits.
We will watch the Amoeba Sisters video on Sex-linked Traits
Students will then be given the remainder of the block to complete the Sex-linked Worksheet, given in Google Classroom.
