Place your Gene Mapping assignment in one pile, center-end so that I can pick them up.
Students will review their answers to the following worksheets
Pedigrees
Chi Square Practice
Non-Mendelian Genetics
While reviewing work, I will score the Gene Mapping assignment and return it to students.
Students should add any worksheet questions/problems they have to the Unit 5 Questions, shared document, given in Google Classroom
We will then go over my Unit 5 Questions Notes
Students will complete the Unit 5 Questions Notes Guided Worksheet as I go over the information.
Prepare for the Unit 5 Test; it will be given during our midterm block on Thursday
Unit 5 is covered in chapters 10 - 12 of your book
Use the Unit 5 Learning Objectives and Understandings to help you with note-taking
Take out your Non-Mendelian Genetics assignment, it will be collected.
Do NOT pass it in if it is not complete
Students will watch the Bozeman video on Genetic Recombination & Gene Mapping
While watching the video students will complete the video worksheet
Once finished with the video and video worksheet, students will complete the Gene Mapping assignment, given in class.
Any time remaining can be spent completing any missing work or preparing for the Unit 5 assessment, to be given during midterm week.

Prepare for the Unit 5 assessment, to be given during midterm week.
No Bell Question, we will get started with today's lab once the bell rings.
Students will open the Cell Division Chi Square Analysis lab sheet in Google Classroom
The details of the lab will be given and students will complete the lab and the corresponding chi square calculations and analysis.
Any remaining time during the block can be used to begin work on the Non-Mendelian Genetics worksheet, given in class.
If not finished, complete the Chi Square Practice Problems and the Pedigree Packet
Complete the Non-Mendelian Genetics worksheet, given in class.

Use the Unit 5 Learning Objectives and Understandings to help you with note-taking
Students are to submit their Topics 4 - 6 Guided Lecture Notes
While I check work students are to:
Check their answers to the Using Probability in Genetics worksheet
begin work on the Pedigree Packet given in class
Students will check their answers to the Topics 4 - 6 Guided Lecture Notes
We will then discuss the Probability in Genetics worksheet
Students will then begin the M&M Chi Square Analysis lab
This is a guided activity and students will follow the direction of the teacher
Any remaining time will be spent working on either the:
Chi Square Practice Problems OR
Pedigree Packet
Complete the Chi Square Practice Problems and the Pedigree Packet

No Bell Question, I will discuss a change to our project goals
Understanding that some may not want to make another stop-action video, I am adding options. You may choose from the following:
Stop-action video
Video Lecture Notes (your own unique dialogue and images)
Video Report on a chromosomal disorder (NOT a mutation of a gene but a chromosomal disorder such as non-disjunction, inversion, translocation and unbalanced rearrangements)
An examination of how a mutation during meiosis leads to evolutionary changes within a species
Another video option of your own desire, with approval of course
Any option selected must address the following three things
An overview of the steps of meiosis
An explanation of how meiosis promotes diversity in offspring
An explanation of how chromosomal disorders can occur
The rubric I shared with people will be modified based on your delivery of project.
You may spend the rest of the week working with your partner on the project.
You have this week to work on your Meiosis Video Project
Due Friday January 3rd
