Ambassador Application

Walt: write an application that "sells ourselves"

Instructions: Make a copy of the doc

1. First you will need to brainstorm ideas

2. Write about one thing you have learnt this year and describe what you learnt, what you created and where you shared it

3. Make a video that tells Mrs Burt why you would make a great Ambassador for Pt England School.

4. Add your text and video to a blog post then email Mrs Burt the link to your blog post. Remember to add a nice message when emailing.

Museum Highlights

Walt: Share some highlights of our museum trip

Instructions:

Task 1:

- Create a new presentation - On each slide write about: - The most interesting thing. - One highlight for the day. - Check your work is in your writing folder, add to your blog and blog log.

Survivors Voice Over

Walt:

Write an explanation that describes the adaptations of an animal.

Instructions:

Task 1:

- Open the Survivors Voice Over Planning & Writing Doc. - Complete the plan by writing down notes for you introduction and paragraphs. - Check your work is in your writing folder and copy a Link to your doc onto the blog log. Task 2: - Explain the adaptations your animal might need to have to survive if it was moved from the Arctic to the Desert or vice versa. - Think about how you are going to start each sentence to make it interesting for your audience. - Once you have finished make sure to mark the voice over section with a buddy using our SURVIVORS RUBRIC

Athletics Day

Walt: write a recount with a purpose.

Instructions:

Task 1:

In your house team you will need to brainstorm all about your house. You will also need to come up with a chant about your house. Task 2: Write a recount about Athletics Day with the purpose of persuading the reader that they should join you school house team. 1. Make a copy of the doc 2. Complete a quick plan to decide what will be in each paragraph 3. Write an exciting introduction which shares your purpose for writing 4. Finish writing your recount. Use lots of cool words to make it exciting and intense. 5.Proofread your writing - Capital letters (beginning of sentences, names of places/people). - Sentences make sense.

Creative Writing - Terrifying Train Trip

Walt: use adverbs to make our writing exciting.

Instructions:

Task 1:

Your task is to look at the photo and write a creative story. Add in as many adverbs as you can. Remember to write in first person as if you were there in the photo. Task 2: With a buddy check and correct your writing. Make sure you have: - Adverbs in bold. - Capital letters (beginning of sentences, names of places/people). - Sentences make sense.

- A new paragraph for each idea. - Blog post has the photo of the plane on it.

- Blog post has WALT at top.

Egg Friend

Walt: write an exciting introduction to hook our audience

Walt: write a recount about one big idea

Instructions:

You are going to write a recount about your experience during our Egg Friend Race.

Task 1: Plan

Make a copy of the writing and planning doc.

First we will discuss key vocabulary that you could use for your recount.

Then you will need to think about what is the big idea that you want for your writing. Every paragraph should say something about your big idea. We will also plan what each paragraph could be about.

Task 2: Writing

Once your plan is finished you can begin writing.

Remember that we are also focusing on writing and exciting introduction which will make our reader want to keep on reading our story.

Task 3: Review and blog

Make a copy of the Recount Rubric and highlight on the rubric where you are up to in your writing progress.

Take a screenshot of your recount rubric.

Add your writing and your recount rubric to your blog.

Add to the Blog Log.

Holiday Highlight / Immersion Assembly Recount

Walt: write an exciting introduction to hook our audience

Walt: write a recount about one main idea

Instructions:

Task 1:

Write a recount about your holiday or about the immersion assembly. To make your recount exciting we will be focusing on adding adjectives. You will be given some adjectives that you will have to include in your recount and try to include as many others as you can. So the key things are: interesting words, exciting adjectives and lots of details!
