Cross Country

Walt: write a recount with quality and elaborated ideas.

Instructions:

Use this task as an opportunity to see how well you can write a recount story in practice for the end of year sample.

Write a recount about a Cross Country you have participated in.

You will explain to your readers the best/worst part of your Cross Country experience.

When you are writing add lots of good quality ideas and then elaborate on them to give your reader more information. Giving more details and information will help the reader understand what happened and how you felt during the day.

Trade & Enterprise Voice Over

Walt:

- Explain causes and effects.

- Write an explanation that describes your situation & emotions presented

- Use capital letters and full stops correctly.

Instructions:

Task 1:

- Open the Explaining My Situation Planning & Writing Doc. - Highlight the situation that you are animating about. - Write down notes for you introduction and paragraphs. - As a class will create a vocabulary list for the words we may use. - Check your work is in your writing folder and copy a Link to your doc onto the blog log. Task 2: - Write an explanation about your situation to do with money and the two emotional responses of your character. Think about how you are going to start each sentence to make it interesting for your audience. - Once you have finished make sure to mark the voice over section with a buddy using our TRADE & ENTERPRISE RUBRIC

Trade Fair Recount

Walt:

-Elaborate on our ideas by giving extra detail and background information.

-Use capital letters and full stops correctly.

Instructions:

Task 1:

Write a detailed recount of our trade fair from Friday. You will need to explain all that has been happening all this term and what happened on Friday. Remember that most people who read your post will have no idea what you are talking about so you will need to give lots of details and background information. Think about some of the following things that they might not know or understand: - Our currency - PTs and your internet banking accounts - What business group you are in and what you are creating/ selling - What happened to you and your business partners on Friday. Task 2: With a buddy check and correct your writing. Make sure you have: - Capital letters (beginning of sentences, names of places/people). - Sentences make sense.

- A new paragraph for each idea. - Blog post has an image you've drawn on it.

- Blog post has WALT at top.

Creative Writing - The Plane

Walt: use adverbs to make our writing exciting.

Instructions:

Task 1:

Your task is to look at the photo and write a creative story. Add in as many adverbs as you can. Remember to write in first person so like you were there in the photo. Task 2: With a buddy check and correct your writing. Make sure you have: - Adverbs in bold. - Capital letters (beginning of sentences, names of places/people). - Sentences make sense.

- A new paragraph for each idea. - Blog post has the photo of the plane on it.

- Blog post has WALT at top.

Job Application

Walt: write an application for a job

Instructions:

Task 1:

This week you are going to be writing an application for a job here at school. You can choose from a list of jobs or even create your own. Remember to think about and add into your application why you would be good for the job and what characteristics you have that make you the best applicant. Have fun and those who are able to make me laugh and keep me interested are more likely to get the job!

Task 2:

When you have finished your CV write a covering letter to go with it. You will need to add in all of your achievements, so that your employer gets an idea of your skills and talents. Some of these could include; sporting achievements, learning awards, interests/ hobbies or skills. Think about all of the things that make you awesome! CV Example

Holiday Highlight / Immersion Assembly Recount

Walt: use adjectives to make our writing exciting!

Instructions:

Task 1:

- Open the the Word Cloud website

- Write down all the words that are about your holiday or Assembly.

- Change the fonts, layout and colours

- Take a screenshot and post to your blog with a sentence explaining what you have done. Add to the blog log.

Task 2:

Write a recount about your holiday or about the immersion assembly. To make your recount exciting we will be focusing on adding adjectives. You will be given some adjectives that you will have to include in your recount and try to include as many others as you can. So the key things are: interesting words, exciting adjectives and lots of details!
