Teaching Language in the Content Areas

    Dear Classroom Teacher,

We want to share some tools and checklists with you to help you get to know your ELLs and to identify the skills they already have plus their current language needs- including vocabulary and background knowledge.  We want to provide you with the required scaffolding strategies which will assist ELLs in learning both language and content together. These tools will also help you to select the best strategies and most appropriate materials to effectively teach your lessons to ELLs.

Plus, they will also be helpful for all students!
