Cell Phone Policy

Our goal at Holy Angels School is to promote a learning environment whose focus is on educating our students from the time they enter school until they are dismissed. Therefore, no cell phones are allowed on school campus. Emergency messages can be relayed to students and parents, via the school office, during class hours or the daycare phone for after school care. We do recognize the family’s need to provide students with cell phones, so as to facilitate family communication after school. If this is the case, students who need to bring their cell phones to school, must follow these guidelines:

  • Parents will write a letter to the principal stating the reason for bringing a cell phone.

  • After the letter is given to the principal, students will turn them in to their homeroom teacher. Cell phones will be placed in a classroom carrier for safekeeping during the school day. Holy Angels School is not responsible for any damage or loss of cell phones.

  • If a cell phone is not turned-in at the proper time and found by a teacher or school staff the phone is taken away and stored in the Principal's Office.

  • Cell phones that have been taken away from a student will be returned at the Principal’s discretion.

  • Cell phones must not be used in any way while on school grounds at any time.

  • If there are incidents of noncompliance, the following consequence will be served:

    • 1st offense – the cell phone will be confiscated and held in the school office until an administrative decision is made for its return. Only parents can pick up the cell phone when it is returned.

    • 2nd offense – detention and/or suspension

The BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Policy is separate. A signed BYOD policy is required if cell phones are to be used in the classroom. (See Technology)

Students are not allowed to wear Apple Watch and use AirPods (or similar devices). Students may only use wired headphones.
