Homework:
Read pages 45-46, The Palestinian Refugees, Palestinians, Palestinian Citizens of Israel; Then skip to 48 and read through 51, The First Intifada, The Negotiation Process, The Oslo Accords, and The Second Intifada.
1. What events and activities have created the "problem" of Palestinian refugees?
2. What have been the destinations for the Palestinian "diaspora?" What have been some negative consequences? Positive consequences?
3. What difficulties do Palestinian citizens in Israel experience? What do you think is the Israeli explanation for these?
4. What was the intifada, and what have been the responses by different groups and organizations to it?
5. For "The Negotiation Process," "The Oslo Accords," and "The Second Intifada," read and annotate, then go back and write down the three most important points from each section. Be prepared to share these in class tomorrow.
