As you watch the video, jot down answers to the following questions in preparation for discussion tomorrow.

1. Write down things the characters in the video say that surprise you.

2. How is this video similar to or different than your own experience with sports? Is there anything in particular that it reminds you of?

3. Define "sportsmanship" in America. How is this idea different in Japan (at least in so far as you see it in this video).

4. What role do you see parents playing in these young athletes lives? How does it compare to your experience?

5. How do coaches and players interact? How about coaches and parents? How are these relationships similar to or different than your experience of youth sports?

6. What rituals do you notice with these teams and their fans and cheerleaders? What values are expressed with these rituals?
