Homework:
In class, you were assigned one of three sets of stories from the scriptures of Judaism. These are formative stories, which make up important elements of the history of Judaism. Each set contains 2-5 stories (their "titles" are in Bold and Underlined). For tomorrow, answer the three questions listed below for each story in the reading assigned to you by your teacher.
Questions 2 and 3 should be written in thoughtful, complete sentences.
You should take care in writing your answers. Tomorrow in class you will be asked to present (perhaps by discussing with other readers of your texts) to the rest of the class the basic content of your stories. A participation grade will be assigned to your group based on the quality of your work.
1. Who are the key characters in this story?
2. Briefly describe the "plot?"
3. What do you think is the moral and/or significance of the story? What does the story tell you about Judaism?
You will answer these same questions several times in your reading, since there are several stories. Obviously, question #3 is subjective and will require some explanation for each.
