I teach Moral Philosophy, World Religions, and Western Civilization at University School of Milwaukee, an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory day school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I most enjoy teaching about ancient Greece and Rome, and the interaction of world civilizations in the 19th century. I get to lead a fabulous group of English and History teachers in USM's Sophomore Humanities program. In addition to teaching at USM, I'm an academic advisor to a group of wily juniors, and the head boys and girls Track and Field coach in the spring. Go cats!
When I'm not standing next to Bonnie Prince Charlie, I enjoy running and camping with my family.
Prior to teaching at USM, I taught at the Pennington School in Pennington, NJ, where I cut my teeth as a hall parent, coach, bus driver, pit band brass player, and faculty band guitarist in addition to my teaching duties.
I studied religion and philosophy at Central College in Pella, IA, and earned an M.Div. and Th.M. from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NJ, where I TA'd Greek and Hebrew, and worked on the Princeton Dead Sea Scrolls Project. Sometimes I miss working at Small World Coffee.
