wednesday 4/22

wednesday, april 22 - d Day

Good morning everyone! Today is D Day. We have Gym with Mr. Butler today.

Today is Earth Day! Click HERE to see the Earth Day craft that we would have done this week. It is optional, but if you want to do it and send me a picture, I can add everyone's craft pictures to the Hallway page on our website. It can be like our hallway at school where we hang our crafts! (Just make sure your face isn't in the picture, because I'm can't put student pictures on our website!)

Today, please email me a picture of the Think Critically Questions #1, #2, and #3. You don't have to send a picture of the Petition Writing today. Just make sure you save it in a safe place until we finish it.

You are really going to like this pronoun song!

Here's another one :) It's a little slower.

If you are one of Mrs. Weinstein or Ms. Rosa's reading students, please visit their page now for your assignment.

      • I'm going to fill out the exercise log today, too!

Writing

      • Yesterday, you chose the topic you are going to use for your petition.
      1. First, let's turn that topic into a title. Your title should start with "Petition to..." For example, mine would be Petition to Make More Gluten Free Girl Scout Cookies
      2. Next, decide who you are going to send your petition to. I will send mine to one of the companies that makes Girl Scout Cookies. ABC Smart Cookies.
      3. After that, say who is sending the petition. That should YOU! Your name goes here.
      • That's all you have to do for today! We will write more tomorrow :)

EXAMPLE - This is what your petition should look like so far.

Petition To Make More Gluten Free Girl Scout Cookies

To: ABC Smart Cookies

I, Kristie Scrofani, would like more gluten free girl scout cookie options.

AR Reading time!!!

      • Please read for 30 minutes today. Take AR quizzes HERE when you finish a book, the same way we do in the classroom :)
      • Remember, you don't have to read 30 minutes all at once! You can split it up however you'd like.
      • We earned the Readerpillar reward on Epic! Our class has read 325 books so far!

Earth Day Science with Miss Scrofani & Miss Smith :)

      • Happy Earth Day! Here's are 2 fun read alouds that we think you will love!

you are amazing!

I'm SOOOO proud of you!!! Great job doing all of your work today! I'm going to go watch The Lorax in honor of Earth Day...how will you celebrate Earth Day? :)

Check out what the animals are up to at the San Diego zoo :)

I know you probably don't watch Sesame Street anymore, but this video is pretty cool and funny!! It shows Elmo on Zoom playdates with all of his friends. Even Elmo is trying to figure out how to have fun in quarantine! I laughed when Grover was having the same technical difficulties as us. Thanks to Mrs. Meadows for sharing this video!
