Writing (this may take some extra time today...I know writing can be hard to do at home, so if it becomes too frustrating, you can continue tomorrow...there are no strict deadlines)

        • Okay authors, it's time to put all of your ideas together and start writing! Get some paper and a pencil and find a comfy spot to write...
        • You already have your characters, setting, problem AND solution! You also have a whole character introduction already written.
        • First, watch Episode 3: Introduction
        • Then, write the beginning of your realistic fiction story. This will be 1 or 2 paragraphs. Use the ideas from the video to start your story. I love to start stories with dialogue or onomatopoeia. Introduce your character (you already wrote this) and your setting. Use lots of adjectives!
        • Example of setting: One beautiful spring evening, Lilly was exploring in her big backyard. Her backyard has huge trees that stand as high as the Statue of Liberty, pretty colorful flowers, a wooden playground, and even a crystal blue in ground swimming pool to swim in on hot spring and summer days.
        • Next, watch Episode 4: Writing A Draft
        • Now it is time to start leading up to the problem! Like the video says, you don't want to jump RIGHT into the problem just yet. You need to build up to it. Try to include 2 events BEFORE the problem happens!!
        • Keep going and write the problem, just like they did in Episode 4. But don't finish the story just yet! We will write the solution and closing tomorrow, and we will revise and edit our stories Friday.
        • Send me a picture of what you have so far :) I can't WAIT to read all of your stories!!!

AR Reading time!!

      • Please read for 30 minutes today. Remember, you don't have to read 30 minutes all at once! You can split it up however you'd like.
      • Take AR quizzes HERE every time you finish a book, the same way we do in the classroom :)
      • Here are 2 chapter books you might like!
      • Ask your parents if you can click HERE for a YouTube page that has A LOT of books - even chapter books! You can listen to the books or even pause the video to read the pages on your own.

you are UNIQUE!

I'm so proud of you!!! Have fun drawing Super Mario characters today! When we played Mario Kart when we were younger, my sister always used to be Yoshi and I always used to be Donkey Kong.
