Archiving an Old Class

It's the beginning of a new school year, and you are ready to use Google Classroom again. There's no need to delete all of your assignments from last year to start fresh, instead, simply Archive your old class. Then, add a new class for the new school year. You will still be able to use all of the old announcements and assignments if you wish, simply by choosing "Reuse Post" when you go to add an announcement or assignment. (Click here to read more about Reusing a Post.)

First, from the Google Classroom home screen, click the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner of the class(es) you wish to Archive.

Then, choose Archive.

Choose "Archive"

Once you have Archived a class, you can view it in "Archived Classes" in the Classroom menu and can find all class files to Drive. To acces your "Archived Classes," click the 3 bars in the upper left hand corner of Google Classroom to view your classroom menu.

Scroll all the way down towards the bottom of the menu, and you'll find your "Archived Classes."

If you wish to Restore an Archived Class, click the 3 dots and choose "Restore."
