For Teachers

Test Administrators will use the Ohio AIR TA Practice Site to practice administering a practice test (AIR log-in required).

Here is Florida's practice site, which has additional AIR practice questions.

Here is the TA Spring 16 checklist.

Here is a copy of the Testing Times for the 15-16 tests.

A few additional notes:

  1. The practice site WILL time out. After 20 minutes of inactivity, students receive a time out warning. Meaning if students leave for lunch or another class, their work will not save.
  2. Each "Select ALL that apply" question, which AIR sometimes refers to as a "Multi-select" question, appear to be worth 1 point. In other words, those are scored as either it is all right, or all wrong.
  3. If a student uses the context menu or right clicks to access the tools, and chooses to view the Tutorial, they will see a video example of someone answering the same style of question. However, it is important to know that these videos have NO sound.
  4. If you'd like to print a response, going to file print will give you multiple pages. You most likely have to scroll to the bottom to find the one page to print. If it doesn't show their whole answer, you can take a "screen shot" of their response. The easiest way is to look for the "Print Screen" button on the top of your keyboard. This takes a picture of what is on the screen. The you can go to a word processor (like Google Docs or Microsoft Word) to paste in the picture. This will paste the entire screen shot of the window. Which means you may need to crop the picture down to be able to zoom in on your students' response.

Answer keys for the practice tests can be found here. Click on the "Student Practice Resources" folder on the left.

For Students

Students will use the Ohio AIR Student Practice Site to help prepare for the state technology testing tools.

It would be wise to have math students use the Practice Equation Editor to help them prepare for correctly enter their answers.

I created this AIR Practice Tutorial handout as a Google Doc to assist in the logging in process. (Shown below)
