September CCC, Sunday 14th, 2014

Dear members,

I’d like to offer my sincere thanks to all of you who made efforts to be there for our CCC children yesterday. It was one of the most attended events and all of our nine performers did justice to your time by presenting their very best! It is so gratifying to see so many kids and parents who really care, enjoy and appreciate being part of this group, THANK YOU!!!

We had the pleasure of introducing 4 new performers on the vocal and one new accompanist on the violin to the encouraging CCC audience. Meenakshi, Mythri, Kavya and Shravanti presented their best in their debut vocal performance and Vittal did justice to his intro violin accompaniment slots. Niyati’s Malayamarutham, Saranya’s Begada/Karaharapriya, Malar’s Kalyani, Sanjna’s Suddha Saveri and Adarsh’s Kalyani exhibited solid improvement since their last CCC performance a year ago. Kudos to them all! Shreyas, Malini, Aravind, Geeta all helped the vocalists present nicely while learning a few things to improve themselves. Ananya broke a tie yesterday (she had sung twice and had played veena twice before this event), congrats Ananya! I’m so happy and proud of our CCC mrudangist pool, we have a strong team of students to support our performers each month and yesterday was no different. All of our mrudangists, Avinash, Pranav, Sathya, Achyut, Akshay Aravind, Sriram, Akshay Venki, and Srivatsan did a very fine job. CONGRATULATIONS to each of the 22 performers for making the event a grand one for all of us!

CCC takes great pleasure and pride to have the membership and association of many local music teachers and enjoys their support and presence in each of our events! In this context, Sri Srikanth Chary of Nadanidhi school, the first (and current) teacher-member of our group, was honored in our event yesterday for completing 25 years of teaching in the bay area. We are truly thankful to Srikanth for his valuable service to the bay area music community and especially for his unconditional support to CCC!

Our dear/dedicated volunteers are the reason behind the smooth running of our events and heartfelt thanks to our core volunteers Namdev, Mohan, Prasanna, Latha, Sriram, Thyagu, Kannan, Balaji, and parent volunteers Anand, Arun, Sundar, Uma Sriram, Subramaniam, Sudhish, Meera Ramchandran, Priya who helped with setup and many others who helped with cleanup. We are ever so grateful to Shirdi Sai Parivaar for offering their wonderful venue to our events each month and we will be getting a chance to show our appreciation soon! Please support their November 1st fundraiser event which will feature Carnatic and Hindustani concerts, and I’ll send more details on how you can purchase the tickets shortly.
