Dear members,

I believe the Bay Area Golu season had ended well and it was nice for all to get together at our October CCC event to discuss what happened in each golu, who made what sundal, and who performed what piece in each concert around the bay etc. Of course, our October performers had the most attention as each of our ten soloists delighted everyone with their beautiful renderings supported by our able accompanists and thanks to each of you who made time to listen to them.

An array of 13 unique ragams were presented by our ten soloists. It was my pleasure to introduce Tejas and Akila to our audience while Rohit, Arjun, Prahlad, Aishwarya, Anchita, Vasudha and Preetika enthralled everyone with their greatly improved performances since last time! We got to hear Shivani for the first time on the violin while our talented CCC pool accompanists did a fantastic job for their respective assignments. Pairing up different accompanists each time for the solos brings out a different flavor and experience and balances out the overall feel, in my humble opinion. My sincere thanks to each of our performing students’ parents’ and their gurus, for their support in making it the absolute best possible performance on CCC stage!

A big thanks to our core team volunteers for their help in making it a smooth event and thanks to Murali for stepping in to take photos this month and I'm sure you'll enjoy this album. Anand G and Vidya have recorded, edited and provided us this video excerpt clip to reminisce the event and I’m sure this will be a treasure to watch if you could not make it in person. Appreciate the parents of Vasudha, Akila, Preetika, and Arjun for their help with tea, snacks for volunteers. The setup and clean up gets done very fast each month, grateful to our parent helpers who come early and stay back late to help.

Wishing you all a very happy Deepavali! I’m excited that I’ll be celebrating it in India, after 27 years, with my parents!

Please save Sunday Nov 12th from 2-5pm for our next event!

Best Regards,

Padma Mohan
