Dear members,
Hope you are all getting back into your routines as the summer vacation is nearing the end for our students with schools about to re-open. We had a great start to the second half of the year at our August event Sunday and a big thanks to all of you who took the time to attend.
We had nine solo performances, eight on the vocals and one violin solo and all of them did a fantastic job by presenting their best possible versions. Young students these days do not fear the stage as much as the students a few years ago did, and this makes the performances more enjoyable for the audience to listen; Sahana whom we introduced was a classic example of this trend. Kudos to all our talented accompanists who enhanced each of those solo performances with their embellishing support and a special mention to Anirudh, Urmika and Shrikanth who handled an OnTheSpot (OTS) performance.
We are extremely thankful to all our core team volunteers for their help with various aspects to ensure a smooth event. Bhooma and Srikanth took care of the ppt, while Latha with her teammates Sadhana and Veena managed the ever busy attendance desk. Audio team was short staffed but Prakash and Venkat stepped in to help out Namdev, our thanks to them as well as to all the parents who helped with chairs setup and clean up.
Hope you enjoy these pictures from our event, our sincere thanks to Murali for helping with photography this month and getting the pictures out before he had to leave town on a vacation the next day. Many thanks to Vidya Anand for covering the video recording and editing to produce this precious excerpt clip for your enjoyment. Truly appreciate her help in getting this done every single month.
