Woodwork

All our children in the Early Years have regular opportunities to learn woodwork. With guidance from our Local Authority advisory teacher, Belmont Infant School has supported other schools in Haringey to do the same. 

Our children learn how to use the tools safely and effectively in our well organised and purpose built woodwork shed. Learning to use tools helps our children to develop their concentration, fine motor skills, communication and language and self-confidence.

The children are able to produce high quality pieces of work independently which instils in them a great sense of pride and self-esteem.
