The Growing Garden

We are lucky to have our very own garden for the children to learn and explore in. It enriches our curriculum in many different ways:

• Learning the responsibility of caring for our environment;

• Developing fine and gross motor skills;

• Working together across different ages and classes;

• Exploring and understanding the natural world;

• Using tools safely and following instructions.

We have a Gardening Club at lunchtimes, during which the children can come and get stuck in to gardening life. The children love helping out to keep the shed tidy, weed the garden and care for everything we grow.

We are always keen to develop our collection of resources to support our outdoor learning. If you know of any funding streams we could apply to, we'd love to know.

Another way of supporting our Growing Garden is by volunteering at the Gardening Mornings which take place on Saturdays across the year. Keep an eye out in the newsletter for the dates of these.
