On the opposite corner is an imposing 3 story building that is the current home of Jurds Real Estate and is the second building of note before we turn down Cooper St. Opened in May 1910 by Alfred Howard who was the last licencee of the Cessnock Inn before it became the Cessnock Hotel. The initial rent to the owners of the building was 7 pounds per week and the whole property was valued at 5000 pounds. The hotel closed in April 1979 due to declining trade.
