Frustrada con la intromisión de su madre, EMMA sube al tejado de la mansión y amenaza con saltar. De repente, una misteriosa mujer francesa llamada NICOLE SAUGUET llega al valle:
"Puede que usted sea la viuda de CHASE, pero yo poseo todo lo demás, con viñedos incluidos..." - le dice a una atónita MAGGIE.
Angela learns the truth about her supposedly deceased child. After taking a disastrous fall, Chao-Li lies at the foot of the stairs. Emma, frustrated with her mother's meddling, stands high above Falcon Crest and threatens to jump. Suddenly, a mysterious French woman called Nicole Sauguet arrives at the Valley:
"You may be Chase Gioberti's widow, but I own your lock, stock, and vineyard" - she says to a stunned Maggie.

RICHARD descubre que es hijo de ANGELA y su difunto marido DOUGLAS, pero ella le dice: "Por lo que a mí respecta, mi hijo murió hace 45 años." "Muy bien. Después de todo, la maternidad no es más que una función biológica." Un soldado mercenario del pasado de CHASE entra en la vida de ANGELA y MAGGIE, y las obliga a enfrentarse a desagradables consecuencias. EMMA cree que se ha embarcado en una nueva vida como mujer de negocios. Cuando LANCE se va a vivir con DINA en medio de las acusaciones de MELISSA, esta intenta hacer las paces con su marido. RICHARD trata de adaptarse a su nuevo estado: "Se supone que la familia te dará amor, seguridad, que todos se ayudarán, se apoyarán unos a otros, no se contarán mentiras, no idearán ningún plan para destruirte..." Richard discovers that he is the son of Angela and her late husband Douglas, but she tells him: "As far as I am concerned my son died forty-five years ago." "Fine by me. After all, motherhood is nothing more than a biological function." A mercenary soldier from Chase's past intrudes on the lives of Angela and Maggie and forces them to face unpleasant consequences. Emma believes she is embarking on a new life as a businesswoman. After Lance moves in with Dina amid Melissa's accusations, Melissa attempts to make peace with Lance. Richard tries to readjust to his new status: "Family is supposed to give you love, security, they're going to help each other out, they're going to back each other up, they're not going to tell lies, they're not going to mastermind some kind of plot so they can destroy you! " Maggie asks him: "What's going on?!" "The Wicked Witch of the West. She tells more lies than the devil."

3/158. Redemption (La redención)

Al no poder recuperar a LANCE, ANGELA acude a DAN para que lleve sus bodegas y encuentre a otra persona para el balneario. Sin embargo, cuando DAN asigna a MELISSA su antiguo cargo, ella crea un club nocturno de éxito para Del Oro. ANGELA comenta con sarcasmo: "La locura saca el lado más creativo de MELISSA." RICHARD gana en una partida con ERIC un terreno en NEVADA. Allí planea fundar una ciudad llamada CHANNING. MAGGIE accede a no presentar cargos contra MELISSA, y NICOLE sigue acosando a MAGGIE hasta que ANGELA entra en escena.
Unsuccessful in luring Lance back to her side, Angela turns to Dan to manage her winery and find someone new to run the spa. However, when Dan assigns Melissa to manage the spa, Melissa, to Angela's consternation, creates a successful nightclub for the Del Oro. Angela says sarcastically: "Insanity does bring out Melissa's more creative side." On the turn of a card, Richard wins Eric's Nevada land and plans to create a town called Channing. While Maggie agrees not to press charges against Melissa, Nicole continues to harass Maggie until Angela enters the fray.

Cuando RICHARD y JOHN REMICK se ofrecen a ayudar a MAGGIE a pagar a ANGELA, cada uno de ellos juega sucio para asegurarse de ser con quien ella esté endeudada. ANGELA envía a LANCE y DAN a investigar el nuevo empleo de EMMA, ya es demasiado tarde. VICKY no sólo le cuenta a MAGGIE que está embarazada, sino que ERIC es ludópata. Por su parte, RICHARD habla a MAGGIE de su turbio pasado:
"No sé si tienes idea de por qué vine al valle...Intentaba salvar mi vida. Estaba aliado con el mal, el peor tipo de mal. No querían dejarme marchar, querían mi alma, y tuve que usar todos los trucos que conocía para huir de mi antigua vida e instalarme aquí. Soy quien soy, y puedes aceptarme o no. Supongo que estoy harto de escapar de mí mismo." Ella responde sinceramente: "Te quiero. A veces...A veces me asustas. A veces creo que no tenemos futuro juntos. Y luego cuando estoy contigo...Me siento atraida hacia ti." Dina resulta gravemente herida en un accidente de bólido con LANCE. Mientras MAGGIE y RICHARD visitan su nueva propiedad en NEVADA, no se dan cuenta de que los están vigilando. Después vuelven a casa y se enfrentan a ANGELA, que les exige el pago de su deuda.
When Richard and Remick offer to help Maggie pay off Angela, each plays dirty to make sure that he will be the one to whom she is indebted. When Angela sends Lance and Dan to investigate Emma's new job, she is too late. Vickie not only tells Maggie that she is pregnant, but also confesses Eric's gambling mania. Richard tells Maggie about his shady past:
"I don't know if you have any idea why I came out here to Tuscany? I was trying to save my life. I was involved with evil. The worst kind of evil. They wouldn't let me go, they wanted to take my soul, and it took every damned trick I know to escape my old life and settle here. I am what I am. And either you accept me or you don't. I guess I'm tired of running away from myself." She bluntly answers:"I love you. Sometimes... Sometimes you frighten me. Sometimes I feel that we're... that we don't have a chance. And then when I'm with you... I.. I'm just so swept away by you." Dina is seriously injured in a car accident with Lance. While Maggie and Richard visit his new Nevada property, they are unaware that they are under surveillance. Consequently, they return home to face Angela's demand for payment.

5/160. Dead End (Callejón sin salida)

ANGELA y RICHARD actúan por separado para conocer al hombre que hay detrás de la misteriosa actividad en el valle. Ambos se ven en una posición precaria. MAGGIE no puede entender por qué RICHARD duda en confiar en la policía:
"Mi lema es nunca confíes en tu vecino. Lo uso desde que vivo al lado de ANGELA." Esta obliga a WILKINSON a revelar de quién es el lago de NEVADA. "Le firmo un cheque" - le dice ella. "Pero no a su nombre. Es para el hombre que se presentará para fiscal contra usted el año próximo... ¿Cree que es una suma demasiado alta?" EMMA accede a escribir su autobiografía, contrata a un escritor profesional y se dirige a HOLLYWOOD. Mientras LANCE descubre que alguien saboteó su coche, VICKY no tiene dónde vivir. Al final, una explosión destruye el hogar de los GIOBERTI.
After Angela and Richard individually maneuver to meet the man behind the mysterious activity in the Valley, they are both placed in precarious positions. Maggie can't understand Richard's reluctance to rely on the police:
"My motto is never trust your neighbor. Comes from living next to Angela Channing." Angela forces Wilkinson to reveal Richard's ownership of lake property in Nevada: "I'm writing a check" - she tells him. "But this isn't for you. This is for the man who's going to run against you for the D.A. next year...do you think this is too garish a sum?" Emma, agreeing to write her autobiography, acquires a ghostwriter and personal manager, and heads for Hollywood. While Lance discovers that someone sabotaged his car, Vickie finds herself among the homeless. In conclusion, an explosion destroys the Gioberti home.

Después de que RICHARD conozca al misterioso CARLTON TRAVIS, ANGELA conspira con este para arruinarlo. RICHARD se percata de que, aunque CARLTON no escucha a razones, sí escuchará a ANGELA. MELISSA viaja con DAN a AUSTRALIA para visitar a COLE y su hijo. Con ayuda de FRANK STARR, la enfermera de DINA intenta desacreditar a LANCE ante esta. ANGELA y TRAVIS recuerdan que se conocieron en el pasado.
After Angela and Richard meet the mysterious Carlton Travis, Angela conspires with Carlton to destroy Richard. Richard realizes that although Carlton is a man who won't listen to reason, he will listen to Angela. Melissa takes Dan to Australia to visit Cole and her son. With Frank Starr's assistance, Dina's nurse works on her patient to discredit Lance. Angela and Travis discover that they have a history.

7/162. Sweet Revenge (Dulce venganza)

RICHARD rechaza la tregua que le propone CARLTON. Este decide secuestrarle junto con ANGELA: "Entre en el coche, CHANNING, o veremos si la sangre de ANGELA es más espesa que el agua." - le amenaza. MAGGIE contrata a una amiga para que organice una fiesta de cumpleaños para el hijo de RICHARD. ANGELA le regala una mascota. MELISSA se lleva a su hijo de picnic y ambos se pierden en el desierto australiano. La enfermera consigue que LANCE le pague medio millón. LANCE sospecha que STARR manipuló su bólido.
After Richard rejects Carlton Travis's offer of a truce, Travis kidnaps him and Angela: "Get in the car, Channing, or we will see if Angela's blood really is thicker than water!" - he threatens. After Maggie hires an old friend to plan a birthday party for Richard's son, Angela brings a puppy as a gift to the party. Melissa spirits her son away for a picnic and becomes lost in the Australian bush. Dina's nurse gets her to sign Lance's half-million-dollar check over to her. Lance suspects that Frank Starr tampered with his car.

8/163. Manhunt (La caza del hombre)

ANGELA busca en el pasado de CARLTON para salvar a RICHARD, aunque tenga que abrir antiguas heridas. ANGELA acude la esposa de un juez de Tribunal Supremo: "ANGELA, creo que lo quieres de verdad en tu interior. Y lo sabes..." - le dice MAGGIE. "Oh, no seas ridícula. Es que no tengo tiempo para asistir a un funeral" - responde ella. Cuando LANCE es detenido por asesinato, MELISSA acude en su ayuda. Un hombre del que DAN cree es un ladrón, resulta ser su padre. Mientras duerme, a LANCE le inyectan una toxina que lo matará antes de 24 horas.
After Angela digs into the past to save Richard from Carlton, she must open old wounds. Angela goes to the wife of a Supreme Court justice:"Angela, underneath it all you really do love him. And you know it!" - Maggie says to her. "Oh, don't be ridiculous. I just don't have time for a funeral" - she answers. When Lance is arrested for murder, Melissa comes to his aid. A man who Dan suspects is a thief turns out to be his father. While asleep, Lance is injected with a toxin that will kill him within 24 hours.

El empeño de LANCE por limpiar su reputación y llevar ante la justica al asesino, pone en peligro su propia vida. TONY insiste en que acuda a un hospital ya que se siente muy enfermo. Pero él, a pesar de que corre veneno por sus venas, consigue que la Enfermera CHADWAY responda ante la ley. RICHARD ayuda a la hija de un viejo amigo para salvar su equipo de fútbol. ANGELA intenta destruir los nuevos viñedos de MELISSA. RICHARD pide en matrimonio a MAGGIE.
Lance's determination to clear himself and bring the real murderer to justice endangers his own life. Tony insists that Lance, who is very sick, check into a hospital. However, despite the poison coursing through his veins, he brings Nurse Chadway to justice. Richard assists the daughter of an old friend and becomes involved in helping her save her ball team. Angela tries to destroy Melissa's new vineyards. Richard asks Maggie to marry him.

Molesta porque RICHARD se ve mucho con LIZ, e incapaz de tomar una decisión sobre su boda, MAGGIE deja el valle para visitar a VICKY en MONTECARLO. Una figura misteriosa y terrorífica acosa a LIZ. Después de que MELISSA se vengue de ANGELA, esta planea un ardid contra ella: "Si alguien va a causar problemas aquí, esa seré yo" - asegura. MAGGIE participa con su nuevo vino en un concurso y obtiene el segundo premio. ANGELA averigua que el padre de DAN tiene una 2ª familia. Tras ser rescatada por LANCE de sus presuntos productores, EMMA empieza a escribir en un consultorio para el GLOBE.
Upset with Richard's involvement with Liz and unable to make a decision about his proposal, Maggie leaves the Tuscany Valley to join Vicky in Monte Carlo. A mysterious and eerie assassin figure stalks Liz. After Melissa gets even with Angela, Angela retaliates with a scheme that boomerangs: "If anybody's going to cause trouble around here, it's going to be me!" - she assures. Maggie enters her new wine in a contest and wins second place. Angela discovers that Dan's father has a second family. After Lance rescues Emma from her would-be producers, she starts writing an advice column for The New Globe.

Cuando MAGGIE vuelve al valle con VICKY y ERIC, se entera de que RICHARD y LIZ han viajado juntos. Pero él la tranquiliza: "Siempre he temido correr riesgos en el amor. Siempre he ocultado una parte de mí. Pero no contigo. Yo también te quiero." ERIC descubre que sus deudas de juego lo persiguen y debe pagar algo más que dinero para vivir tranquilo. El mundo de MELISSA empieza a experimentar fenómenos extraños, obra del ilusionista contratado por ANGELA, FOSTER GLENN. El éxito de EMMA como columnista molesta a EMMA, que pide consejo al Padre BOB sobre su familia: "¿Cómo puedo querer al bebé que perdí, y odiar al hombre en que se ha convertido?" - inquiere ella.
When Maggie returns to the valley with Vickie and Eric, she learns that Richard and Liz have been traveling together. But he comforts Maggie: "I've always been afraid to take a chance on love. Always held a part of myself back. But not with you. I love you too." Eric realizes that his gambling debts are following him and that he must pay more than money to escape them. When Melissa starts to experience strange phenomena due to Angela's hired illusionist Foster Glenn, Melissa's world begins to fall apart. Emma's success as a columnist disturbs Angela, who goes to Father Bob for advice about her family: "How can I love the baby I lost and hate the man he's become?" - she wonders.

Después de saber que MAGGIE ha aceptado por fin a RICHARD, EMMA y ANGELA celebran una fiesta-sorpresa de compromiso. LANCE descubre que la encantadora extraña que ha conocido sabe secretos que podrían impactar en su vida. LIZ hace un anuncio que enfurece a ANGELA pero alegra a MAGGIE. MELISSA oye por casualidad a ANGELA hablando del plan para volverla loca e ingresarla. RICHARD impide que ERIC cometa un terrible error.
After discovering that Maggie has finally accepted Richard, Emma and Angela throw a surprise engagement party. During the party, Melissa makes her entrance dressed only in a bathrobe. Lance discovers that the charming stranger he has befriended knows secrets that could directly impact him. Liz makes an announcement that infuriates Angela but delights Maggie. Melissa overhears Angela talking about her plan to drive Melissa insane and have her committed. Richard saves Eric from making a terrible mistake.

VICKY desaparece de la fiesta de ANGELA y RICHARD y ERIC la buscan alarmados. DAN recibe sorprendido a su hermanastra CARLY, cuya existencia desconocía, y la pone a trabajar en los viñedos. Cuando ve la mansión, la chica dice: "¿Este sitio es de verdad? Parece sacado de "Psicosis"...¿Cuántos cadáveres tiene enterrados en el sótano?" - bromea con ANGELA. "Francamente, querida, he perdido la cuenta..." SHANNON intenta dejar el valle cuando LANCE la interroga. MELISSA consigue frustrar el plan de ANGELA para internarla y además pierda la confianza de DAN. Pero ANGELA consigue información confidencial sobre los asuntos de MAGGIE.
After Vicky vanishes from Angela's party, Richard and Eric frantically search for her. After Dan is surprised by the arrival of a half-sister, Carly, whom he didn't know he had, he puts her to work in the grape fields. When she sees the mansion, she says: "Is this place for real? It's like right out of "Psycho". How many bodies do you have buried in the basement?" - she jokingly aks Angela. "Frankly, my dear, I've lost count." Shannon tries to leave the valley after Lance questions her. Melissa is able to deflect Angela's scheme to get her committed so that Angela instead loses her hold on Dan. Angela succeeds in prying into Maggie's affairs.
