En el cementerio del Valle de Tuscany se celebra un funeral que afectará drásticamente la vida de todos los habitantes de FALCON CREST. JULIA ha herido gravemente a CHASE y ha matado a JACQUELINE. En el funeral de esta, el primo de CHASE, el Dr. MICHAEL RANSON, hace su entrada y es bienvenido en el hogar de los GIOBERTI. EMMA le da a RICHARD un buen consejo: "Seguro que ni siquiera te has permitido llorar. A veces, lo hacemos sin poder evitarlo. No reprimas tus sentimientos, son parte de la madurez, hay que dejar atrás la infancia."

En prisión JULIA lucha contra los intentos ded ANGELA de demostrar su inocencia, convencida de que la cárcel es mejor que vivir bajo el tiránico control de su madre. LANCE persigue a MELISSA, horrorizada de que la madre de él haya matado a su padre, y jura no perdonar nunca a los CHANNING. MAGGIE asegura a ANGELA que seguirán luchando contra ella:

"Esta es nuestra vida, por esto dejamos todo lo que teníamos. Por este sueño de venir aquí y volver a ser una familia. Eso fue lo que nos trajo aquí al principio, y por eso nos quedaremos. Y esas emociones, de las que tú careces, nos ayudarán a sobrevivir. Porque vamos a prosperar y, si persistes en esa guerra eterna tuya de echarnos de aquí, guerra es exactamente lo que vas a tener."

En el hospital, CHASE sale del coma y descubre que bala alojada en la columna lo ha dejado paralizado.

At the Tuscany Valley Cemetery, a funeral is in progress that will drastically affect the lives of everyone at Falcon Crest. After admitting to the murder of Carlo Agretti, Julia pulls out a gun, critically wounds Chase and fatally wounds his mother Jacqueline. At Jacqueline's funeral, Chase's cousin, Dr. Michael Ranson, appears for the first time and is taken into the Gioberti household. Emma gives RICHARD a good advice: "I bet you even haven't let yourself cry. Sometimes, it just comes upon us without any avoid of. You just let go. It's just part of growing up. Part of letting go of your childhood."

At the prison, Julia fights Angie's attempts to help prove her innocence, believing prison is better than living under Angela's tyrannical control. Lance feverishly pursues Melissa, who is horrified that his mother murdered her father and who vows never to forgive any of the Channings. Maggie assures Angela they´re going to keep on fighting her:

"This is our life, this is what we gave up everything we ever had for. For this dream, of coming here and being a family again! That's what brought us here in the first place and that's what is going to keep us here. And it's those emotions, something that you regrettably lack, that is going to help us survive here. Because we're going to prosper and we are going to grow. And if you persist in this eternal battle of yours to drive us out of here, an eternal battle is exactly what you're gonna get!"

Back at the hospital, Chase finally comes out of his coma, only to discover that the bullet lodged in his spine has left him paralyzed.

ANGELA boicotea la recuperación de CHASE revelándole que su madre ha muerto. Después de enfrentarse a MAGGIE, ANGELA decide atacar a la yugular. Cuando se entera de que el Dr. LANTRY aumenta sus ingresos vendiendo ilegalmente pastillas, usa la información para chantajearle y hacerle firmar una declaración jurada sobre la incompetencia de CHASE para dirigir FALCON CREST. LANCE ayuda a su abuela en este plan mientras su mujer MELISSA busca afecto en RICHARD: "Puedes hablar todo lo que quieras, LANCE. Con tu diabólica abuela, tu tonta tía EMMA y tu madre homocida. Déjame en paz..."

En FALCON CREST, el pequeño JOSEPH debe ser trasladado rápidamente al hospital después de tragarse las píldoras que LANCE ha conseguido para el asunto del chantaje. Con odio y miedo en los ojos, MELISSA acusa duramente a LANCE de intentar matar a su hijo.

Angela jeopardizes Chases recovery by telling him about his mother's death. After Maggie confronts Angela, Angela declares that it's time to go for the jugular. When Angela learns that Dr. Lantry augments his income by illegally selling pills, she uses this information to blackmail the doctor into signing an affidavit about Chase's incompetence to manage Falcon Crest. As Lance helps his grandmother in her scheme, his wife, Melissa, is turning to Richard for affection: "You can talk all you want, Lance. Talk to your crafty grandmother, your daffy aunt Emma and your homicidal mother. Just leave me alone!"

Back at Falcon Crest, baby Joseph is rushed to the hospital after swallowing the pills that Lance had procured for Angela's blackmail scheme. With hatred and fear in her eyes, Melissa coldly accuses Lance of trying to destroy her baby.

Tras el accidente surido por su hijo, MELISSA y LANCE acuerdan pactar una tregua, y LANCE y ANGELA se emocionan al saber que MELISSA está embarazada. Siguiendo con el plan de ANGELA, LANTRY informa a MAGGIE y MICHAEL que la bala en la columna de CHASE ha dado lugar a una infección, y que debería operarse. Más tarde, el médico inyecta drogas a CHASE discretamente. Mientras, RICHARD se siente culpable al saber por PHILLIP que JACQUELINE estaba muriendo de cáncer y se puso delante de RICHARD para protegerle durante el tiroteo. Entonces este y MELISSA traman ganarse la confianza de JULIA para manipularla y vengar las muertes de sus padres. Entretanto MAGGIE pide a MICHAEL que se enfrente a sus temores e intervenga a CHASE. Esa noche, LANTRY anuncia triunfante a ANGELA que CHASE sufre una fiebre muy alta y podría morir cuando ella lo ordenara. ANGELA se queda horrorizada pero el doctor la informa que es demasiado tarde, recordándole que es cómplice de asesinato.

After their baby's accident, Melissa and Lance agree to a truce, and Lance and Angela are soon thrilled when Melissa announces she's pregnant. Carrying out Angela's plan, Dr. Lantry informs Maggie and Michael that the bullet in Chase's spine has caused an infection, and that he may have to operate. Later, Lantry discreetly injects drugs into Chase's I.V. During this, Richard becomes guilt-ridden when he learns from Philip that Jacqueline was dying of cancer and stepped in front of Richard to spare her son from the gunfire. Richard and Melissa then plan to gain Julia's trust to manipultate her to avenge the deaths of their parents. Meanwhile, Maggie begs Michael to face his fears and take over Chase's case. That night, Dr. Lantry triumphantly announces to Angela that Chase has a raging fever and could die whenever she wants. Angela is horrified, but Lantry coolly informs her that it's too late and reminds her she's an accomplice to murder.

MICHAEL lucha contra reloj para evitar que LANTRY opere a CHASE, lo cual podría dejarlo paralizado de por vida. ANGELA consigue una fecha para que un tribunal declare a CHASE legalmente incompetente para dirigir FALCON CREST. RICHARD visita a JULIA y empieza a manipularla: "Cometiste el único delito del que casi todos nosotros somos capaces. Un crimen de pasión, del corazón."

CHASE recupera parte de sensibilidad en sus piernas y, mediante una terapia, comienza a recuperarse. En la audiencia, cuando el juez parece que va a dictar en favor de ANGELA, CHASE entra en la sala con ayuda de sus muletas, y el juez deniega la petición. JULIA es declarada no demente, sus compañeras de prisión siguen atormentándola. En casa de los GIOBERTI, MAGGIE convence a MICHAEL de que acepta una plaza vacante en el hospital, pero se sorprende al saber que él es el albacea de la herencia de JACQUELINE.

Michael frantically races against time to stop Dr. Lantry from operating on Chase, which could leave Chase paralyzed for life. Angela then sets a court date to have Chase declared legally incompetent to manage Falcon Crest. Richard visits Julia and begins to manipulate her: "You committed the only crime most of us are truly capable of. A crime of passion, of the heart."

Chase regains some feeling in his legs, and through physical therapy, begins to recover. At the hearing, just as the judge appears ready to rule in Angela's favor, Chase hobbles in on crutches, and the judge denies her petition. While Julia is declared not to be criminally insane, jail inmates continually torment her. At the Giobertis' house, Maggie convinces Michael to take a staff position at the hospital, but is shocked when he tells her he's the executor of Jacqueline's estate.

5/45. Judge and Jury (Juez y jurado)

Cuando CHASE vuelve a FALCON CREST, ANGELA ordena a LANCE que le ponga las cosas difíciles. Para hundir a los GIOBERTI, LANCE echa a los empleados de CHASE y sabotea uno de los tanques. Los GIOBERTI intentan hacer ellos mismos todo el trabajo, hasta que se suelta una de las tapas de desagüe y miles de litros de vino se pierden. Tras controlar la fuga, CHASE sufre un desmayo por agotamiento. En el proceso de JULIA, PHILLIP solicita que esta sea sometida a examen psiquiátrico, pero antes de que el juez se pronuncie, JULIA se declara culpable de todos los delitos. El abogado intenta hacerle cambiar de opinión: "Si no cambia tu actitud, es posible que acabes pasando el resto de tu vida en la cárcel." "Se me ocurren peores lugares, como por ejemplo FALCON CREST" - asegura JULIA.

Los CHANNING y los GIOBERTI asisten al juicio sorprendidos, pero MELISSA parece satisfecha, segura de que ha cumplido su objetivo de convencer a JULIA de atacar a su madre durante el juicio. Alarmado, PHILLIP advierte a ANGELA de que JULIA podría ser condenada a muerte.

While Chase returns to Falcon Crest, Angela orders Lance to make his homecoming difficult. Lance, in an attempt to undermine the Giobertis, sends home Chase's crew and sabotages one of the vats. As the Giobertis attempt to do all the work themselves, a drainage lid breaks loose, spilling thousands of gallons of wine. After controlling the leak, Chase collapses from exhaustion. At Julia's trial, Philip motions to have Julia placed under psychiatric observation, but before the judge can rule, Julia pleads guilty on all counts. The lawyer tries to change her mind: "If you're attitude doesn't turn around you might just spend the rest of your life in prison." "I can think of worse places. Falcon Crest for instance" - assures Julia.

The Channings and Giobertis sit stunned, but Melissa sits smugly, knowing her mission has been accomplished by convincing Julia to lash out against Angela through her prison sentence. Alarmed, Philip warns Angela that Julia could receive the death penalty.

6/46. The Wages of Sin (El salario del pecado)

MELISSA contribuye a que JULIA esté cada día más cerca de la cámara de gas, al enfrentarse a la sentencia por haber cometido dos asesinatos. Cuando el juez se dispone a dictar sentencia, JULIA declara que prefiere morir a pasar su vida en la cárcel. Sin embargo, el juez la condena a cadena perpetua. MICHAEL acusa a LANTRY de negligencia profesional, pero este amenaza a ANGELA con implicarla si no le para los pies a MICHAEL. Mientras, RICHARD teje una maliciosa red usando a EMMA para que MAGGIE trabaje para su periódico como redactora, mientras él ataca a CHASE posponiendo la lectura del testamento de JACQUELINE:

"Nuestra madre estaba decidida a que fuéramos amigos hasta el punto de pagarnos por nuestros esfuerzos - dice CHASE. "Estaría bien que la engañáramos y nos hiciéramos amigos por nuestra cuenta" - responde RICHARD. PHILLIP devuelve a MELISSA el contrato original que ANGELA le obligó a firmar para que la cosecha de AGRETTI pasara a FALCON CREST.

Melissa helps push Julia closer to the gas chamber as she faces sentencing for two murders. As the judge prepares to pronounce sentence, Julia announces she'd rather die than spend her life in prison. The judge, however, sentences her to life behind bars. Michael Ranson accuses Dr. Lantry of malpractice, but Lantry tells Angela he will implicate her if she doesn't stop Michael. Meanwhile, Richard Channing spins a malicious web using Emma to lure Maggie to work for his newspaper as a feature writer while he fights Chase by delaying the reading of Jacqueline's will:

"Mother was determined that we'll be friends even to the point of paying us for our efforts - says Chase. "I think it would be nice if we fooled her and became friends on our own" - Richard answers. Philip returns the original contract to Melissa that Angela had forced her to sign that would have given the Agretti harvest to Falcon Crest.

7/47. The Last Laugh (La última risa)

JULIA ingresa en prisión, donde se encuentra con una dura funcionaria que tiene una obsesión con los CHANNING, mientras que ANGELA lucha para que su sentencia se conmute. Tras hacer el amor, MELISSA ofrece su cosecha a RICHARD, que acepta entusiasmado para evitar que sea de ANGELA. En su testamento, JACQUELINE establece que 50 millones de dólares sean repartidos a partes iguales entre CHASE y su hermano, pero sólo si, al cabo de un año, el primero cree que RICHARD es digno de confianza, el motivo tras los fraternales actos de este. JACQUELINE también deja a ANGELA la llave de la suite de un hotel con la especificación de que PHILLIP debe acompañarla hasta allí. JACQUELINE ríe la última cuando ANGELA encuentra una cama sin hacer con una nota suya revelando que hizo el amor con PHILLIP allí mismo.

Julia enters prison where she meets up with a tough matron who has a personal vendetta against the Channings, while Angela works to get her sentence commuted. After making love, Melissa offers the Agretti harvest to Richard, which he eagerly accepts in order to keep it from Angela. In Jacqueline's will, she has left fifty million dollars to be split between Chase and his brother, but, only if after one year, Chase believes Richard to be trustworthy. This reveals the motive for Richard's brotherly actions. Jacqueline also leaves Angela a hotel suite key with instructions that Philip must accompany her there. Jacqueline has the last laugh when Angela finds an unmade bed with a note from Jacqueline stating that she and Philip made love at that very spot.

Así lo hace, y compra a la funcionaria para que le haga a JULIA todo más fácil. MAGGIE descubre pruebas de que los cheques de LANTRY reciben un sustancioso y misterioso complemento. LANTRY se siente presionado por la investigación de CHASE y MICHAEL en torno a su incompetencia y falta de ética como médico. Temerosa de que el doctor la involucre, ANGELA amenaza al Dr. HOOKS para que suspenda la investigación. Al saber que MAGGIE ha heredado una fortuna. su hermana TERRY HARTFORD se dirige a FALCON CREST...

Julia breaks down to beg Angela for protection against the ruthless inmates and prison matron who are out to kill her. Angela pays the matron off to make things easier on Julia. Maggie uncovers evidence that Dr. Lantry's paychecks are supplemented by a mysterious and handsome additional income. Dr. Lantry is feeling the heat from Chase and Michael's investigation into his competency and ethics as a doctor. Afraid of being implicated by Lantry, Angela threatens Dr. Hooks into dropping any inquiries. Maggie's sister, Terry Hartford, discovers that Maggie has become wealthy and heads for Falcon Crest...

ANGELA se protege cuando se entera de que la investigación de CHASE y MAGGIE sobre el turbio pasado de LANTRY la señala a ella. Cuando ella cuenta a LANCE que MELISSA y RICHARD mantienen una aventura, un enfurecido LANCE se propone encontrarlos. MELISSA se defiende diciéndole que intenta que RICHARD sea su aliado:

"Lance, debes creerme. No hay nada entre nosotros" - afirma. "Sí, y también creo en el Conejo de Pascua" - bromea LANCE.

Mientras, RICHARD tiene los ojos puestos en PAMELA. El padre de LINDA se niega a aceptar a COLE como parte de su familia, al tiempo que los recién casados inician un pleito por la custodia de JOSEPH. TERRY busca hacer fortuna en el valle manipulando a todos en casa de los GIOBERTI.

Angela desperately protects herself when she discovers that Chase and Michael's investigation into Dr. Lantry's underhanded past points to her. After Angela reveals to Lance that Melissa and Richard Channing are having an affair, Lance, boiling with anger, sets out to find them. Melissa covers by telling Lance that she's trying to maintain Richard as an ally:

"Lance, you have to believe me. There is nothing going on between Richard and me" - she says. "Yeah, and I believe in the Easter Bunny too" - Lance jokes.

Meanwhile Richard has his eyes set on Pamela. Linda's father refuses to acknowledge Cole as part of his family, while the newlyweds start a custody battle for baby Joseph with Melissa and Lance. Maggie's sister Terry seeks her fortune in Tuscany Valley by manipulating her way into the Gioberti's home.

10/50. The Double Dealing (Doble juego)

Traicionado por ANGELA, LANTRY va a prisión, pero ahora supone una amenaza mayor para ella, ya que teme que la implique durante el juicio por el intento de asesinato de CHASE. PHILLIP paga la fianza del doctor y planea enviarlo fuera del estado, pero CHASE y MICHAEL están decididos a demostrar que LANTRY estaba aliado con ANGELA.

Esta ha investigado el turbio pasado de TERRY y planea usarla para destruir a los GIOBERTI. Tras descubrir que había sido prostituta en NUEVA YORK, utiliza esto para obligarla a que presione para que COLE retire la demanda por custodia. Mientras tanto, TERRY intriga para escalar socialmente y flirtea con los hombres de FALCON CREST. Al msmo tiempo, RICHARD se enfurece al saber que la COMPAÑÍA exige el control total de su hipódromo y no reparará en medios para conseguirlo. Además, ofrece a MAGGIE un puesto en el periódico:

"Dándole trabajo a MAGGIE provoca sospechas en CHASE... No sabe qué estoy preparando - le cuenta a su ayudante PAMELA. "Además, los artículos de MAGGIE aumentarán el interés del público en una iniciatuva que pronto destruirá el Valle de TUSCANY como carroña devorada por una manada de hienas." "Muy poética" - señala ella con ironía.

Railroaded by Angela, Dr. Lantry is jailed, but now he poses a bigger threat to the wine baroness who fears he will turn the state's evidence against her in court, implicating her in the attempted murder of Chase. Philip arranges Lantry's bail and plans to have him sent out of the county, but Chase and Michael are determined to prove that Lantry is allied with Angela.

Angela investigates Terry's dark past with plans of using her to destroy the Gioberti family. After discovering that Terry had been a prostitute in New York, Angela uses this fact to force her into stopping Cole's custody suit. Meanwhile, Terry, scheming to gain wealth, plans to overtly flirt with the men of Falcon Crest. At the same time Richard is incensed to learn that the cartel demands 100 percent control of his racetrack and will stop at nothing to get it. He also gives Maggie a job at the paper:

"Employing Maggie keeps Chase guessing...he doesn't know what I'm up to - he tells his new assistant Pamela Lynch. "Also, Maggie's articles can only heighten the public's interest in an endeavor that will soon tear the Tuscany Valley apart like carrion being savaged by a pack of hyenas." "Very poetic" - she remarks with irony.

Ella lo niega todo, pero apenas puede disimular su enfado. CHASE acaba localizando a LANTRY, que confiesa que fue chantajeado por ANGELA para que firmase la declaración de incompetencia de CHASE. Lance betrays Angela by revealing to Chase where Dr. Lantry is hiding. Chase accuses Angela of having arranged Lantry's bail and tells her that he found out from Lance. Angela denies everything but can barely control her fury over Lance's betrayal. Chase locates Lantry, who confesses that Angela had blackmailed him into signing the affidavit concerning Chase's incompetency. Before Chase can stop him, Lantry injects himself with a lethal dose of morphine. When Osborne's dead body is found on Richard's property, this not only further tarnishes his already scandalous reputation, but poses a threat to Richard's own life. Meanwhile, Michael warns Richard that his inheritance is in jeopardy, and Philip is exposed as the publisher's business associate.

Con el Dr. Lantry al borde de la muerte, CHASE se da cuenta de que puede perder su única oportunidad de ver a ANGELA en prisión. LANCE amenaza a su abuela y a su mujer con el chantaje, y, al mismo tiempo, ANGELA conspira con PHILLIP para que JULIA sea admitida en un sanatorio. TERRY intriga para ganarse el corazón de MICHAEL, mientras que ANGELA la chantajea por su parte.

VINCE CAPRONI, amargado porque LINDA se ha casado con COLE, le dice a su hija que la crueldad de ANGELA con los peones inmigrantes fue la causa de la muerte de la madre de LINDA. ANGELA obliga a TERRY a espiar a los GIOBERTI, amenazándola con revelar su escandaloso pasado. CHASE descubre una cláusula en el testamento de su abuelo que le concede derecho legal a expulsar a ANGELA de FALCON CREST. Esto la pone fuera de control:

As Dr. Lantry nears death, Chase realizes that he may lose his only opportunity to see Angela behind bars. Lance boldly threatens Angela and Melissa with blackmail, and at the same time, Angela works with Philip to admit Julia into a mental institution. Terry slithers her way into Michael's heart, while Angela blackmails her for devotion.

Vince Caproni, bitter about Linda's marriage to Cole, tells Linda that Angela's cruelty to migrant workers caused Linda's mother's death. Angela forces Terry to spy on the Giobertis, or else Angela will reveal Terry's seedy past. Chase discovers a clause in his grandfather's will that gives him the legal right to oust Angela from Falcon Crest. Angela´s reaction is as strong as it can be:

"Nobody's going to take Falcon Crest away from me! Nobody!" Phillip tells her: "Judge Leeds never would have issued this order without good cause. I'd say we're in for a pretty tough battle in court." "Well, we'll do more than fight him in court! When I am through with him Chase Gioberti will wish he's died and gone to hell!"

CHASE se enfrenta a una maliciosa campaña pública contra RICHARD, que proyecta levantar un hipódromo que podría destruír la industria vinatera. La decisión final depende de los residentes del valle que van a votar tras los ataques del editor. ANGELA jura que no permitirá que CHASE dirija FALCON CREST sin ella y frustra sus esfuerzos por hacerse con los libros de contabilidad:

"FALCON CREST es mío por derecho divino y nadie, ni siquiera la ley, podrá arrebatármelo..."

CAPRONI enferma seriamente después que LANCE le amenaza por el pleito de paternidad. ANGELA ataca a su sobrino con fiereza para quitarle sus poderes. Mientras, TERRY se va a vivir con MICHAEL, a pesar de que los GIOBERTI advierten a este de que es una joven traicionera.

Chase fights a vicious public battle against Richard Channing, who is trying to build a racetrack that could destroy the wine industry, however, the final decision rests with the valley residents who are about to vote after the men's muckraking campaigns. Angela vows that she will not allow Chase to run Falcon Crest without her and thwarts his efforts to obtain the accounting record:

"Falcon Crest is my god given right now no one, not even the law is going to take it away from me!"

Vince Caproni becomes seriously ill after Lance threatens him over Joseph's paternity suit. Angela makes a fiery attack on her nephew to strip him of his Falcon Crest powers. Meanwhile, Terry moves in with Michael, despite the Giobertis' warning that she is treacherous.

En el sanatorio, JULIA se pone histérica cuando RICHARD le explica con malicia que él es el padre del hijo que espera MELISSA, y la pone en estado catatónico. Richard has won the election to build his racetrack while Chase is madly driven to stop him, which results in an explosive disaster. Pamela asks him: "Is there anyone that can't be bought?" "Yeah! The unborn and the dead" - he answers.

In the mental institution, Julia becomes hysterical when Richard malevolently tells her Melissa's baby is his, thus pushing her into a catatonic state. Angela promises Lance that they will be kicked out of Falcon Crest if they lose Joseph's custody suit to Cole. However, when Melissa is grilled on Lance's affair with Terry while giving her deposition to Cole's attorney, she explodes and admits that their marriage is a farce. Angela attempts to stop Chase's plans to market a line of champagne by buying up the grape harvest he needs.

Michael Ranson must face his fears from a dark past and perform surgery on Sheriff Robbins to save his life. In the operating room, Michael is unable to perform the surgery and later confesses to Terry about the guilt he's felt ever since his wife died. The floodgates open as Michael tells Terry how his wife was in an accident and died when Michael had attempted to operate on her.

Meanwhile, Terry spies on Maggie for Angela and at the same time, makes plans to marry Michael. A cartel gangster attacks Richard Channing while Angela plans to crush Chase with the help of Calvin Kleeger, the Falcon Crest wine distributor. Kleeger informs Chase that with Angela out of Falcon Crest, he will no longer serve as distributor unless Chase offers the winery as collateral.

Melissa loses control over her wicked power game when Philip intervenes and forces her to sell the Agretti harvest to him. Richard is nearly run down by a hit man as the cartel becomes even more determined to take over his racetrack. Maggie tries to get information about Jacqueline from Angela:

"Jacqueline is a person I don't care to discuss" - she assures. "Angela, you must have so many valuable memories of her. Now, according to my research, she came here in the year of the great drought..." "Yes she did. Disasters seem to come in pairs..." When Maggie interviews Sister Jeanette, an old acquaintance of Chase's mother, she overhears the startling news that Jacqueline had an affair with the head of the Nazi Gestapo in Paris, Johann Riebmann. When Cole returns home to find Melissa waiting for him seductively posed in his bed, he throws her out, but not before Linda enters, who witnesses the ugly scene.

Melissa and Lance resort to blackmail when Joseph's custody case goes to court. After enticing Cole into assaulting him in front of a witness, Lance shows up in court badly bruised claiming that Cole had beaten him. After hearing the corroborating story of the blackmailed witness, the judge dismisses Cole and Linda's suit.

At the Gioberti's house, Maggie and Chase realize that Jacqueline's relationship with Johann Riebmann and Henri Denault made her a war criminal. Maggie decides not to submit her article to The New Globe, but Emma surprisingly turns out to be just as conniving as Angela when she has the story printed on the front page behind Maggie and Richard's backs. Richard fears for his life when Spheeris calls to convey the cartel's displeasure about the story.

Angela plans to bargain with the Giobertis for control of Falcon Crest; in return, Melissa must give Cole custody of Joseph. Terry follows Angela's orders when she pits Michael against Chase, and Richard is at the mercy of the cartel's gangsters in opening his racetrack. Meanwhile, Maggie's article uncovering Jacqueline Perrault's crimes cuts through the valley with a razor's edge.

La muerte se cierne sobre MELISSA cuando su discusión con LINDA culmina en un accidente de coche fatal. LANCE pasa la noche con TERRY mientras MELISSA sufre un aborto en el hospital y, por ello, se siente avergonzado e intenta disculparse ante ANGELA. Ella es incapaz de perdonarle. MELISSA informa a esta que se niega a entregarle a JOSEPH y exige que le devuelva el acuerdo firmado. PHILLIP pide matrimonio a ANGELA pero ella está ocupada intentando echar del valle a TERRY, esperando que LANCE actuará entonces como un marido para MELISSA. La relación entre RICHARD y PAMELA se convierte en personal, pero ella teme que lo maten tras desafiar a la COMPAÑÍA.

Death looms over Melissa after her argument with Linda culminates in a fatal car accident. Lance spends the night with Terry while Melissa has a miscarriage at the hospital. Lance is overcome with shame and tries to apologize to Angela, but she is unforgiving. At the hospital, Melissa informs Angela that she refuses to give up Joseph and wants the signed agreement returned. Philip proposes to Angela but she is preoccupied with driving Terry out of Tuscany with the hope that Lance will then act more like a husband to Melissa. Richard and Pamela's relationship extends past their work, but she fears he will be killed after defying the cartel.

20/60. Tests of Faith (Pruebas de fe)

El pasado de TERRY es revelado a MICHAEL cuando ANGELA llega a extremos inesperados para expulsarla del valle. Soborna a KATE MARS, una antigua compañera prostituta de TERRY, para que le cuente a MICHAEL la verdad sobre esta. Luego le exige: "Quiero que abandones el valle inmediatamente." "Qué amable...¿Cuando acabe el día o prefieres que me marche ya...?" - le pregunta con sorna TERRY. "Cuando acabe el día me va bien" - responde ANGELA.

También pone al descubierto las pasadas indiscreciones de PHILLIP, mostrándole un gemelo que halló junto a la cama de la suite donde JACQUELINE afirmó haber dormido con PHILLIP. Este lo niega todo y se va, harto de sus manipulaciones. CHASE busca otro distribuidor y descubre que KLEEGER era una tapadera de ANGELA. En el sanatorio, JULIA, disfrazada de limpiadora, se escapa y empieza su regreso a FALCON CREST haciendo auto-stop.

MAGGIE descubre que la horrible causa de sus mareos y dolores de cabeza es un tumor cerebral. PAMELA es secuestrada por la COMPAÑÍA y obligada a elegir entre su lealtad a RICHARD y su propia vida. Mientras, LANCE persigue a RICHARD como venganza por el estado mental de su madre, sólo para verse atacado por sus guardaespaldas.

Terry's dark, sordid past is exposed to Michael when Angela goes to extravagant lengths to run her out of Tuscany Valley. Angela pays Kate Mars, a former call girl buddy of Terry, to tell Michael the truth about Terry's past. Then she tells her: "I want you to leave Tuscany Valley immediately!" "How cordial. By the end of the day or did you want me to be quick about it?" - Terry mockingly asks. "The end of the day will be fine" - answers Angela.

Angela also exposes Phillip's past indiscretions, producing a cuff link she found by the bed in the hotel room where Jacqueline claimed to have slept with Phillip. Phillip denies everything and quits, fed up with Angela's manipulation. Chase seeks out another wine distributor and discovers that Calvin Kleeger served as a front for Angela. At the mental hospital, Julia, disguised as a janitor, escapes and starts hitchhiking her way back to Falcon Crest.

Maggie discovers that the horrifying cause of her dizzy spells and headaches is a brain tumor. When Richard refuses to give the cartel control of his racetrack, hit men kidnap Pamela and force her to choose between loyalty to Richard and her life. Meanwhile, Lance stalks Richard, seeking revenge for his mother's mental setback, only to have Richard call security to rough him up.

El New Globe publica la noticia de la fuga de JULIA, y esta roba una cartera y compra una peluca a la camarera de una cafetería. MELISSA paga un alto precio por intercambiar su hijo a cambio de poder. CHASE se cita con PHILLIP para saber si ANGELA va en serio sobre lo de intercambiar a JOSEPH por la mitad de FALCON CREST. Cuando el abogado le entrega el contrato de custodia de JOSEPH, CHASE se siente consternado, pero se alegra de saber que podrá alejar al niño de las garras de ANGELA. MELISSA le ruega a esta que anule el acuerdo con CHASE, pero ANGELA le dice que es tarde. Cuando CHASE y COLE vienen a llevarse al niño, MELISSA se siente abatida por la culpa.

A petición de la COMPAÑÍA, PAMELA coloca micrófonos en el despacho y la casa de RICHARD. TERRY es acosada por su pasado, pero MICHAEL le pide que se quede en el valle. También MAGGIE la perdona: "De alguna manera, las dos tendremos que volver a empezar. No podré olvidar lo que nos hiciste y me costará confiar en ti. Pero te quiero, TERRY. Porque la pura verdad es que, a pesar de todo, sigues siendo mi hermana."

JULIA utiliza su disfraz para evitar a la policía, y asume la identidad de KAY ABERDEEN, y es invitada por un admirador inocente, LUCAS CROSBY. Mientras, MAGGIE debe enfrentarse a su enfermedad...

The New Globe publishes news of Julia's escape, while Julia steals a wallet and buys a wig from a waitress at a roadside coffee shop. Melissa pays a heavy price for trading her son for power. Chase meets with Philip to determine how serious Angela is about trading Joseph for half of Falcon Crest. When Philip produces Angela's custody contract, Chase is appalled, but is pleased to know that he can pry Joseph out of Angela's clutches. Melissa begs Angela to call off the deal with Chase, but Angela tells her that it's too late. As Chase and Cole come to take her child, Melissa is overwhelmed by guilt.

Later, Chase gets an anonymous tip that Richard bribed a county geologist to approve construction of the racetrack. At the cartel's behest, Pamela plants bugs in Richard's office and home. Terry remorsefully suffers the backlash from her sordid past, but surprisingly, Michael still asks her to stay in Tuscany. Maggie also forgives her: "Somehow, the two of us are gonna have to start from where we are right now. I'm not gonna be able to forget what you did and it's going to be difficult for me to trust you. But I can love you, Terry. Because the simple truth is that, in spite of everything, you are still my sister."

Julia uses her disguise to slip past a police checkpoint, then assumes the identity of Kay Aberdeen, and is invited to stay with an unsuspecting admirer, Lucas Crosby. Meanwhile, Maggie must come to terms with her illness.

Más tarde, esta le advierte que debe hacer las paces con MELISSA ya que, ahora, ella es su heredera. Si no lo hace, se quedará sin un dólar. RICHARD encuentra los micrófonos instalados por PAMELA y sospecha que la COMPAÑÍA está cerca de él.

ANGELA reaviva un idilio con CARTER ST. JOHN, que despierta los celos de PHILLIP. MAGGIE se queda sin tiempo ya que su tumor crece rápidamente, y debe decir entre la cirugía arriesgada y el tratamiento con radiación. Su vista empieza a fallar, su pérdida de vista puede ser irreversible. JULIA pide a LUCAS que le enseñe a disparar.

Lance flies into a rage when he hears that Melissa sold Joseph to Angela for her half of Falcon Crest. Angela later warns Lance that he must mend things with Melissa since she is now Pamela's heir and if he doesn't, he'll be left penniless. Richard finds the bugs planted by Pamela, leading him to believe the cartel is closing in on him.

Angela ignites a romance with Carter St. John, which makes Philip jealous. Maggie is running out of time as her tumor rapidly grows and must decide between risky surgery and radiation treatment. Her eyesight soon starts to fail, and Michael warns that if they don't operate on Maggie soon, her loss of sight could be irreversible. However, questions about Michael's surgical abilities stilllinger. Claiming she is afraid for her safety, Julia has Lucas teach her how to shoot a gun.

23/63. Final Countdown (La última cuenta atrás)

MICHAEL convence a CHASE para que le deje extraer el tumor de MAGGIE, que la ha dejado ciega y podría matarla. MICHAEL requiere la ayuda de su antigua novia, la anestesista LILLIAN HELLER, en la intervención de MAGGIE. Cuando esta es conducida al quirófano, CHASE duda si volverá a verla de nuevo. LANCE pide a MELISSA que le dé una segunda oportunidad, pero ella sabe que no es sincero y le recuerda con frialdad que es la única beneficiaria de FALCON CREST, y no tiene intención de compartirlo con él.

PHILLIP contrata para su bodega a los mejores empleados de ANGELA. Mientras, PAMELA está decepcionada con RICHARD: "Eres de verdad despreciable, ¿lo sabes? ¿Y sabes por qué? Odias a cualquiera que te quiere, porque te odias a ti mismo." Luego lleva a cabo las órdenes de SPHEERIS para ayudar a destruir a RICHARD, y este está centrado en ganarse el apoyo de CHASE para conseguir su herencia y terminar la construcción del hipódromo.

Michael convinces Chase to let him operate on Maggie's tumor, which has already taken her sight and may take her life. Michael enlists his former lover, anesthesiologist Lillian Heller, for helping with Maggie's operation. As Maggie is wheeled into the operating room, Chase wonders if he will ever see his wife again. When Lance begs Melissa to give their marriage a second chance, she sees through his insincerity and coldly reminds him that she is the sole beneficiary to Falcon Crest and has no intention of sharing her empire with him.

Phillip adds to his winery staff by hiring away Angela's best people. Meanwhile, Pamela gets disappointed by Richard: "You really are despicable, you know that? And you know why? You hate anyone who loves you! And do you know why it is? Because you hate yourself." Then she carries out Spheeris's orders to help destroy Richard, while Richard is preoccupied with trying to win over Chase to obtain his inheritance for the completion of the racetrack.

24/64. Love´s Triumph (El triunfo del amor)

Cuando MICHAEL y la Dra. HELLER terminan de extraer el tumor de MAGGIE, su corazón deja de latir. Reaccionan de inmediato, y consiguen que tenga el pulso débil, pero ella queda en coma. Mientras MICHAEL reconoce con humildad que su destino queda en manos de Dios, ANGELA reza por ella, JULIA y FALCON CREST, y se reúne con PHILLIP, en quien espera poder volver a confiar de nuevo. Mientras, RICHARD enloquece al saber que CHASE ha rechazado el fideicomiso de 50 millones de JACQUELINE, y lo ha donado al convento de Santa Marta en París, ahora que RICHARD necesita tanto el activo. Para colmo, la COMPAÑÍA amenaza la vida de PAMELA y, cuando esta es secuestrada, él se da cuenta de que, aunque conserva el hipódromo, ellos tienen lo que más le importa: PAMELA.

Just as Michael and Dr. Heller remove the last of Maggie's tumor, her heart stops. Working quickly, Michael and Dr. Heller manage to get a weak pulse, but Maggie is left in a coma. As Michael humbly admits that Maggie's fate is up to God, Angela prays for Maggie, Julia and Falcon Crest, and reunites with Philip, whom she believes she will be able to trust again some day. Meanwhile, Richard is crazed when he learns that Chase has turned over Jacqueline's fifty million dollar trust fund to St. Martha's convent in Paris at a time when Richard desperately needs the money. On top of this, the cartel's plot against Richard threatens Pamela's life. After Pamela is abducted by the cartel, Richard realizes that though he may have retained control of the racetrack, the cartel has the one thing he cares most about: Pamela.

25/65. Win, Place and Show (Ganador y colocados)

Cuando la COMPAÑÍA se propone convertir el asesinato de RICHARD en un espectáculo público en la inauguración del hipódromo, él cambia de lugar la bomba y esta explota en su limusina. Ansioso por complacer a ANGELA, LANCE le promete que le darán un nieto. Sin embargo, ella es informada de que ya no puede tener hijos por las heridas que sufrió en el accidente de coche. Los GIOBERTI se sorprenden cuando MICHAEL y TERRY anuncian que se han casado. Pero MELISSA no lo está:

"Es la depredadora perfecta y él es la víctima perfecta." Por su parte, ANGELA accede a casarse con PHILLIP: "Estamos hechos el uno para el otro, ANGELA." "Mi padre solía llamarme "gata infernal". ¿Te casarías con una "gata infernal"? "Formaremos un equipo sensacional. Dime que te casarás conmigo..." "Bueno... Creo que sí" - le dice por fin.

Cuando los detectives descubren el escondite de JULIA, LUCAS averigua su identidad y sus crímenes mientras ella se dirige hacia el valle. Mientras, LANCE lleva a cabo su plan para aumentar su poder usando el GLOBE como arma.

When the cartel begins to carry out its plans to make a public spectacle of Richard's assassination at the grand opening of the racetrack, Richard, making a switch with the bomb, causes the cartel to explode its own limousine. Eager to please Angela, Lance promises that he and Melissa will produce a grandchild. Melissa learns, however, that she can no longer have children because of injuries sustained from the car accident. The Giobertis are surprised when the two announce their marriage. However, Melissa is not:

"She's the perfect predator and he's the perfect victim." At Falcon Crest, Angela agrees to marry Phillip: "You know, we were made for each other, Angela." "My father used to call me a "hell cat". Were you meant to marry a hell cat?" "We'll make a hell of a team! Say you'll marry me." "Well... I think I will" - she eventually says.

As detectives discover Julia's hideout, Lucas discovers Julia's true identity and murderous acts as she heads for Tuscany. Meanwhile, Lance secretly executes his plan for power using The Globe as his tool.

26/66. For Better, For Worse (En lo bueno y en lo malo)

A medida que se acerca la boda de ANGELA, JULIA se prepara para matar a su madre. MELISSA resiste las insinuaciones de LANCE: "Estoy impaciente por librarme de ti y de este matrimonio. Fue una broma desde el principio" - dice ella. "¿Sabes lo que es una broma? Nunca nos diste una oportunidad, saltando a la cama con todos los hombres de aquí a San Francisco." "Y tú fuiste el fiel, leal marido que dormía con todas las zorras del valle."

La ceremonia nupcial comienza mientras JULIA, vestida con hábitos de monja, se dirige hacia la iglesia. CHASE la reconoce, pero ella consigue encerrarlo en un armario. Mientras él intenta liberarse, JULIA pierde la ocasión de disparar a ANGELA y se marcha a FALCON CREST, donde se celebrará el banquete de bodas.

Escondida en el piso de arriba, JULIA apunta su pistola hacia ANGELA, pero las sirenas de la policía hacen que esta salga de su punto de mira. Entonces JOSEPH se acerca a JULIA. CHASE entra con los agentes, y avisa que JULIA quiere matar a ANGELA. COLE se precipita hacia arriba, pero ya es tarde: JULIA se la llevado al niño como rehén.

As Angela's wedding day draws near, Julia prepares to murder her mother. Melissa resists Lance´s advances: "I can't wait to get rid of you and the marriage! That was a joke from the very beginning"- she says. "You know what a joke is? I'll tell you a joke right now! You never gave our marriage a chance, jumping to bed with every man from here to San Francisco." "And you remained the faithful, loyal husband and slept with every slut in the valley."

The wedding ceremony begins as Julia, dressed in a nun's habit, heads towards the church. Chase notices her, but Julia manages to lock him in a closet. As he feverishly tries to work his way out, Julia misses her chance to shoot Angela and leaves for Falcon Crest and the wedding reception.

As the reception begins, Julia, hiding upstairs, crouches at the railing and aims her gun at Angela. The sound of sirens distracts Angela, and she moves out of range. As Julia realizes she's lost her chance, Joseph comes to her. Chase bursts in with the police, warning Angela that Julia intends to kill her. Cole dashes upstairs to check on Joseph, but it is too late: Julia has taken the child hostage.

27/67. The Avenger (La vengadora)

EMMA y LANCE descubren que JULIA se ha refugiado en la cabaña del Manantial, junto a su rehén JOSEPH. TERRY recibe una preocupante carta, sacando a la luz más secretos de su pasado y obligándola a mentirle a MICHAEL de nuevo. Cuando ANGELA lee una vieja carta que JULIA le envió desde la universidad, lamenta haber estado demasiado ocupada con sus negocios para pasar más tiempo con ella. En la cabaña, JULIA accede a soltar a JOSEPH si le traen a ANGELA.

La policía rodea la casa y ANGELA entra a cambio de liberar a JOSEPH. ANGELA reconoce que le ha fallado como madre, y al final añade lo que JULIA espera oír, que la quiere. JULIA se desmorona y le da la pistola a ANGELA, pero el sheriff ordena abrir fuego y una lámpara de keroseno acaba incendiando la casa. LANCE y CHASE desafían a las llamas y entran, y el último salva a ANGELA, pero LANCE pierde el sentido y debe ser rescatado del fuego. ANGELA observa cómo se consume la cabaña, impotente, creyendo que JULIA quedó atrapada dentro.

mma and Lance discover Julia hiding out at the springhouse with her hostage Joseph. Terry receives a disturbing letter, dredging up more of her sordid past and forcing her to lie to Michael again. As Angela reads a letter that Julia had sent her while in college, she regrets having been too busy with her business career to spend time with Julia. In the springhouse, Julia agrees to release Joseph if Angela is brought to her.

The police surround the house as Angela enters in exchange for Joseph. Angela admits to Julia that she has failed her as a mother and finally says what Julia has been waiting to hear, that she loves her. Julia breaks down and hands Angela the gun, the deputy prematurely opens fire, igniting a kerosene lamp and setting the house on fire. Braving the flames, Lance and Chase dash into the house. Chase pulls Angela to safety, but Lance is knocked out by a falling beam and must be rescued from the fire. As the springhouse erupts in flames, Angela watches helplessly, realizing that Julia is trapped within.

JULIA ha fallecido en el incendio de la cabaña tras reconciliarse con su madre, lo cual une a las 2 familias enfrentadas. Los GIOBERTI y los CHANNING deciden ir juntos a TOSCANA, ITALIA, para arrojar las cenizas de JULIA, como su última voluntad, y RICHARD pone a su disposición su avión particular. Las maniobras de MELISSA hacen que COLE tenga que abandonar el avión minutos antes del despegue y quedarse en FALCON CREST.

Mientras sobrevuelan Colorado, un fallo en los motores provocado por un miembro de la Compañía, hace caer el avión fuera de control, y con él a su piloto CHASE, MAGGIE, LINDA, PHILLIP, ANGELA, EMMA, LANCE, los recién casados MICHAEL y TERRY, e incluso el pequeño JOSEPH...

At the charred springhouse, the coroner, after inspecting a ring and bone fragments, positively identifies the remains as Julia's. In a note to Lance, Julia's last request is to have her ashes scattered in Italy. Angela asks the Channing and Gioberti families to travel to Italy in hopes that Julia's death can somehow reunite them. Richard is heartened to learn that Pamela may be alive in Europe. Melissa informs Lance that when he returns from Italy, she will have already moved out of Falcon Crest.

Angela discovers that Melissa has filed for a divorce and is unable to have children. As everyone prepares to leave, Melissa pays one of the workers to stage an accident at the winery so that Cole will have to stay behind with her. As Chase inspects the airplane, he fails to recognize one of the cartel's men posing as a mechanic. As Angela, Philip, Lance, Emma, Richard, Maggie, Michael, Terry, Linda and Joseph take off in the plane with Chase as the pilot, the emergency buzzer sounds indicating the loss of an engine. Another buzzer rings when another engine is lost. As Chase suspects sabotage, the plane takes a perilous dive.
