Welcome to the world's tiniest book store! We're really tiny!

    • The Times We Had : Life with William Randolph Hearst by Marion Davies, ed by Pamela Pfau and Kenneth S Marx, with an introduction by Orson Welles. Ballantine Books, New York, 1975. Paperback, 370 pages

      • Marion Davies recorded her memoirs in several taped interviews starting in 1951, the same year Hearst died. They were withheld from publication for twenty-four years! She thought perhaps she had revealed a little too much.

      • I picked up my copy at a flea market just because I was more interested in what Orson Welles had to say, and what perhaps Marion had to say about him. But I was stunned... stunned! to find that this book, unlike most of this size is chock-a-block full of pictures. Not just of Marion and Hearst but of all sorts of famous movie stars, and other celebrities. There are easily a hundred photographs scattered through the 370 pages.

      • Buy a copy at Amazon right now. If you like reading lots of intimate first-hand notes about movie stars, and wealthy society people, especially of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, this is your book. Marion and "W.R." knew them all.

    • The New Revelation by Arthur Conan Doyle. George H Doran : New York. 1918. Hardcover. 122 pages.

      • Condition: No dj, as issued. Spine is darkened with a worn-or-discolored spot on spine about the shape of a thumbprint, top edge is darkened and bottom edge has a small stain. All pages crisp and tight with no yellowing, no marks, no internal damage. Overall a very good copy for being ninety years old. This was the original U.S. printing of this title, with the U.K. printing done by Hodder & Stoughton.

      • Arthur Conan Doyle, famous for the creation of Sherlock Holmes, was also later in life, a believer in spiritualism. This book auto-biographically describes his initial doubt, and the detailed circumstances that led to his belief. He then expounds on the belief system in some detail.
