Michael Boyle was born the third son of Roger Boyle and his wife Jane Pateshull. On 29 Jan 1570 at St Lawrence Jewry, London, he married Jane Peacock, who was then or later co-heiress of her father William Peacock of London; mercer. They had thirteen children baptised at St Lawrence Jewry, but are also credited with a son Henry who does not appear there. The order of the children is slightly different from that given in other sources, but is taken from the parish register entries of St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Jewry, London (Batch P001461 wj) In the 1582 London Subsidy Roll he is listed in Cripplegate Ward, St Mary Magdalene Parish "Michaell Boyle, 60 pounds"
