2 Feb 1848 Newspaper announcement that the business partnership between himself and Lilburn W Boggs was dissolved, the dissolution witnessed by Vallejo at Sonoma 29 Dec 1847

He died in 1849, his will directed that if his wife Anne (who was only then about 17) remained a widow she could have one-third of his estate, the remaining portion to go to his daughter by a prior wife. Anne contested the will and won. She married secondly McDonald, Treasurer of Sonoma County and had nine children.
