SMS Report

Reports are sent as soon as we receive report from mobile or mobile operator.

Operator can sometimes try to send a message for up to 72 hours before terminating the messages and reporting it as a failed delivery. This time can be shortened by choosing a shorter validity time when sending the message using the Toolbox or API.

Standard setting is No reports.

- Where to send your reports

Type the destination for the reports, email address or URL in the field to the left of the option menu.

- When to send your reports

Click the drop down menu and choose an alternative, when you want reports, (Always, When Success, When Failure or Never) and check the box if you want your original message attached to your report.

- Include message in report

Check the box at bottom (click on the question mark for more details).

Example:

Originator - Sending alternatives

Here you can choose what the originator should look like when you send SMS.

- Default

The setting of the below that is set as standard on the account. When account standard changes, this will also follow.

- Number

You can define any mobile phone number as the sender. The receiver will get the impression that you are sending the message from that mobile phone and reply to the message or chose to call the number. You can also use a mobile number rented from us, then replies will be sent to that number.

- Short code

If you rent a short code from us, you can name it as originator here. Note that if the short code if shared, the sender must start the message with your keyword for it to come back to you.

- Text*

You can specify a text in the box to the right, max 11 characters, that will be shown as the sender to the recipient. The recipient cannot reply to the message.

- Subject*

The subject line of your email will be set as originator. If a text, it will be trunkated to 11 characters and then fully displayed in the beginning of the message. If the subject line is empty, Reply-SMS will be set automatically. This is a useful tool if you want to change the sender ID only using your email.

- Reply-SMS - Two-way SMS

With this choice, your recipients will be able to reply to your messages and the replies will be sent to the email address or URL you put in the box to the right. If URL is chosen: type XML: before the URL (ex. XML:http:...and so on) if you want it in XML format, HTTP form is standard.

The recipient will reply to a dynamic mobile phone number, and they reply the way they normally do.

* Limitations with an alphanumeric sender

You can use all of your alphabet characters and digits except: / \ [ ] " | { } ~ ^ €

We recommend that you use the following characters: a-z, A-Z, 0-9, (-), (.) and space.

iPhone will sometimes handle alphanumeric originators in unexpected ways, messages can be deleted after the phone has reported them as delivered if the originator is short, 1-3 characters. iPhone can also delete special characters in the originator, such as: - . _ &
