When authentic photos can not be used or are not approved then illustrations should be used. There should be a balance of photos and illustrations used without one outweighing the other.

For example, if we are showing a great customer quote and want to have a personal element then a custom true to form avatar will be created for that individual if a photo can not be attained.

The style of illustration should be flat. This is so that we can avoid being cartoony (silly) and evoke a feeling of helpfulness, friendliness, and an overall stress-free feeling.
