Cyanotypes

Purpose:

• To learn about cyanotype and its relevance to the history of photography;

• To learn about positive and negative space, as well as organic, natural shapes;

• To use principles of art to create a unique design.

Through working with cyanotypes I learned how it feels to have to have patience to make a photo. Leaving the pictures out in the sun to develop and get brighter and then running them through water to finalize. I also learned the more time in the sun for certain pictures the better. My photo "Hike" was more of an experiment and not necessary for my assignment but while making it I discovered that I should've left it out for longer.
