I didn't get the opportunity to work with film directly, but we did do a lot of research and work looking into film photography. We learned about lighting and cameras, and such, but it was mostly digital. Working with digital, however, made me realize why they made digital cameras in the first place. It's so much easier! I do love the way film photography looks; however, I kind of prefer digital now.
Looking ahead, I want to spend more time working with the cameras themselves and perfect my skills with lighting and distance, and all that good stuff. I'd love to dabble with sports photography, maybe on the ski slopes where I work. I'd love to start carrying a camera on me more regularly so I can constantly work with and practice with a camera.
Im most inspired to take photos when Im outside in nature. I love taking pictures of animals I see while Im out, people doing cool things, or even just pretty landscapes. Nature is a beautiful thing and capturing it is so much fun. The mountains specifically are most inspiring. Im a ski patroller on the weekends and seeing the different landscapes spread out around you when your on the mountain is really breathtaking.
Within this class I hope to get the opportunity to work with film and that style of photo taking. Beyond my little disposable cameras I havent done much work with film and I think its such a cool style of phtotgraphy. I would love to get to know how to use the dark room and develop my own pictures. Along with learning how to work with lighting and such on film cameras.
