Hi! I'm Taylor Saucier. Thank you for looking at my work!
I am a multi-medium artist with a current focus on photography and fashion design. I live in a small town in southern Maine called Yarmouth. I love getting inspiration and exploring the outdoors. My adventures go far beyond Maine, stretching across four different continents.
Creativity has been my strong suit since I was really young. Growing up with a mother who had a side job as a photographer, I've been stealing her camera and snapping pictures for as long as I can remember. She always encouraged me to paint, sculpt, sew, and so much more. As a kid this was so normal to me, but now that it comes time to start deciding what my future will look like, having those abilities is one of the things I'm most grateful for. In college I plan to major in fashion design and merchandising, but I definitely won't limit myself to just that. Taking photos will always be a passion, and holding that at the minimum as a hobby is guaranteed.
With limited resources for expanding my knowledge in fashion, most of the experience I have is through my everyday outfits I curate, creating the costumes for my school's musicals, and running my Depop page with secondhand clothes I seek out at thrift stores. I've gotten the opportunity to shadow a day behind the scenes of an L.L.Bean photoshoot, merging my love for fashion and styling with photography. Here I watched the stylist make sure each outfit was cohesive and sitting just right before the shot was taken. Seeing both worlds I love working so closely made me realize that continuing both wouldn't be quite as difficult as I thought.
After graduation, before I start college, I plan to take some classes to better get to know my sewing machine and different techniques for designing my own pieces. I would like to document my progress using my camera and also take photos on adventures I take outside of that.
I have so much to learn and narrow down, but I can't wait to keep learning.
